Looking at NYPS thread, it is not as active as PHPPS. Hence after reading this thread silently for a few days, can't help myself, decide to barge in again. Hope that NYPS thread will be as lively/helpful as this one.
Yah comfy, like what php mentioned, do pop-in once in a while and tell us whether the parents @ NYPS are as active as us  . -

Haha   Always welcome!! In fact, our thread has been so active that at times, parents of other schools share their views too! I had a teeny bit of hard time trying to decipher some of the parents' profile when compiling the PH parents list. Haha.
Hence after reading this thread silently for a few days, can't help myself, decide to barge in again. -
php:
yes, i would like to know your experience in the GEP...comfy:
I can understand Markfch's point of view regarding taking a more relax approach for his DS in P1. For me, after taking such a approach, I change 'gear' as DD is promoted to CH2. Change her chinese enrichment class from a non-academic one to a highly academic one. Monitor her EL, Math more closely than ever. Hee hee more KS as the teachers' marking is very strict. Very difficult to obtain high mark for composition/compre. Maybe the teachers expect more from this class. So I believe all parents will definitely put in more effort from P2 onwards. Come to P3, slack abit, getting use to such marking and class position. Hence loose abit of steam. Now have to charge up again for new programme in new school.
do come back to this thread and share with us your exp in GEP....
happy x'mas!! -
markfch:
you are my buddy, sure help if you have a need...btw, i have a lobang for you... let u know when we meet next year...
And your dd is also one level above my ds. So you'll be as helpful as her rite and pass me all your notes ...... :rubhands:php:
Ya... i have that feeling too....then her dd will be always one level above my dd and she can share her exp with us...very useful indeed...she is very........very helpful.....really appreciated that..... -
Merry x’mas everyone.another week or so to go…still so many things not done, not yet stitch name tag,ds still writing his names on the stickers for textbooks…but have to learn to relax first during these festive periods.

Hi E3,
When is your #2 going to P1 ?
Hi markfch,
What is PH so nice to offer the P1s ? :?
Plan a time-table and revise with son...weekends can still afford to play.
It's Christmas eve...it will be Christmas in another 4 hours. Merry Christmas. -

I have yet to master the skill of relaxing...esp during festive periods.
Just repacked daughter's school bag last night...also checked to see if all her books and stationery are labelled. -
Hi,
It's good to see PHPPS networking group and it's really amazing active.
I and my wife bought son's school bag yesterday and start to prepare his first of school. It's really fun to do it and recall myself when my parent bought my first school bag around 30 years ago. I remember clearly that I was jumping and keep hold the bag until I slept.
My son seems don't like his first school bag.
Unfortunately, I have another problem other than school bag. I lost the paper that shows what text book and things to bring for first week. My son is joining Peace class. Anyone can share with me the information on that paper? Can I get one more copy from school? Please advice me how I can get the copy of paper again.
I just wanted to see what text book I should teach him before 1st day of school. I think I need to learn more how to keep important paper.
Merry Christmas !!

Aiyah, Give Them a BREAK-la ....dyh:
Guess what...i only received my p3 son's letter on class posting yesterday. We called on 16/12 when we still didn't receive it. PH said to let them know again on 17/12 if still no letter. So we called on 17/12 again and they promptly sent a new one. We received the new letter on 20/12 (stamp dated 17/12). Then yesterday we received the first letter with stamp dated 10/12! I wonder where did the first letter go during the last 12 days.
