I heard this year only a handful get full exemption for yr 1, not many for partial exemption too (due to HMT) but quite a lot from year 2 get exempted. Daisyt can share more.
I cannot remember the figures off hand but heard from dd, year 2 of 2010 got the most no of exemption.
Usually, how many gets partial and how many get full exemption?WeiHan:

I would think most of them who take exam are not 'weak', it is those who are exempted are extremely good.
It needs GPA 3.5 (average A2 for all subjects) to qualify for partial exemption and GPA 3.8 for full exemption. -

I think it's best to take the exams even if exempted, since the others are taking, just join the crowd.

True ... But make sure when you join the crowd, you do well enough or else can pull down your overall GPA and dont look fantastic on paper.

Haha, you saw their photos ... Its the National Junior Robotics.justsay:
That sounds like fun. It's for all levels?
Heard dd mentioned that CCA - Info Comm won in a national competition (not sure which competition though ) and the team get full subsidy for a Paris trip this holiday. Saw their photos on their facebook, they went Louvre mesuem, Disneyland etc... they had fun !
Two major competitons for them are National Junior Robotics and First Lego League. The competitions range is very wide, the teams have to make a video, research, construct robotics with lego system for missions, build booth, find sponsorship, interview experts, present your video & robots to the judges ...
All the results for all the category can be found in the website.

dd has been so relaxed since the last day of PSLE. Everyday, she wakes up, watch tv, use computer, go for badminton training, come home, watch tv , use computer , sleep.
I'm getting worried that when actual lessons start, her engine has been left unused for so long, it's difficult to start.
Any RV parents busy preparing their children for sch? Heard of some parents sending their kids for Sec 1 tuition 1 wk after psle. -

It should be her voluntarily pick up some topics of interest to read up. The sparkling up of interest is the most important. Forcing materials into the brain for good exam results can't last until adult life.dd has been so relaxed since the last day of PSLE. Yes its true. Don't be surprise, i heard certain topics in maths and physics, the sch teachers expect you to know. And some things they are learning one year in advance in school. By mid of year 2, they have to buy year 3 maths assessment books, same for chinese. I know of a student, by the end of year 2, already finish O lvl syllabus at tuition center for one subject. -
