Don't have to worry. Like sall says, all other students can cope so there is no reason why your son can't.
In fact dd is looking forward to CCA days. She's enjoying it.

Mrs frisby and the rat of nimh

Chinese can start with 三字经，唐诗，宋词，弟子规，simplified version of 四大名著。read chinese newspaper and 少年文摘

If students are thrown into a cca they really cannot tahan, can they change it the next yr? :?

They are still an O lvl books but i feel year 1 can start reading for fun.

If really cannot tahan, should be able to change bah. The sch cannot be so unreasonable bah. I have heard of one or two cases.

When I spoke to the sports trs during open house, it seems like they are going all the way out to improve the standard of badminton. Seems like the P is v keen on badminton, so I was told they are joining force with Lining and doing a lot more for badminton. So I believe they will be looking for the best of the best during dsa trial. If your child is from JSA, then I believe she'll have a better chance. Some students who are under JSA are already accepted into the sch team. They didn't even need to go for the trial.
My dd is going for training, but she still has to go for the trial as she's not from JSA. It seems like badminton is the only sport that conducts such intensive training during this holiday, 4x a wk. But maybe the tournament starts in 3rd wk of Jan, that's why so rigorious training.
