Trapwithin:

Notabox do remember sch starts on 4th not 3rd as shown in the scanned info. For first day, bring stuff mentioned on the 3rd in the letter though sch starts on 4th.

1st week for P1 should be quite relax.

But I read we should skip Jan 3 and just bring stuff stated for Jan 4.. ???

Hi notabox, if I was not wrong, you start packing the items in the list based on first day as 4th Jan (Tue), and followed on till the last day (Fri), that should be packing the Social Studies Course-book and stuff.

The purple homework file was not collected by my dd's P1 teacher last time so I think it is ok to use any file. It's for personal use. In fact, it was not in the booklist for P3 anymore.

The Art folio and Drawing Block (put in the Folio) will be collected and put in the class cabinet. Please remember to label (including the Drawing Block). πŸ˜„ By the way, it's good to have a hardy Art Bag because during Art lessons, the kids might need to bring materials for Art lessons and the Art Folio home.

As for the Broadlined exercise books, it's good to get more when school reopens but the bookshop should be quite crowded on the first day. If based on the list, it should be handed up on the 2nd day of school (pushing the date back to Wed). Anyway, P1s only needed one for Spelling and one for Mental Sums. I don't remember her using other exercise books for EL in P1. :D:D
For the things to bring list (first week), PH started with 3 Jan whereas school starts on 4 Jan. So, do we follow the list on 4 Jan or 3 Jan?

Hi, is your child going to P1 next year? Welcome!

Just follow the list based on 4th as first day of school. Teachers are pretty relaxed with the P1s on first week. No worries. πŸ˜‰

E3 you're right. Just rang the sch office. Was told that for the first day, to bring the books listed based on 4th Jan, not 3rd Jan.
Thanks for replying, E3. But...sorry, I am still confused!

Based on above quote, I thought we should bring stuff stated for Jan 4 on Jan 4. But Trapwithin and you are saying we should bring stuff stated for Jan 3 on Jan 4, right?

        Which is right? :?

          Which is right? :?
That quote was implying what Trapwithin and I were implying too. markfch also meant that to pack the stuff based on 4th as the 1st day, not 3rd. You'll need to pack whatever items stated on 3rd Jan, on the 4th. Basically just follow the list as stated for the 4 days from Tue to Fri. Note: it's a schedule, not a time-table. It was an error that the schedule stated 3rd Jan as first day. Anyway, no worries, ya? πŸ˜‰ That's the fun of it. By the 2nd or 3rd day, you'll have everything figured out. πŸ˜„

Guess you are right, should figure this out by day 2 or 3... but being ks, i think I will just bring both the stuff stated for Jan 3 & 4 on Jan 4! πŸ˜‰

Thank you & have a good day!

I'll think that it's a little heavy to bring 2 days worth of books on the first day though. This confusion & the other one you mentioned about the broadline exercise books (we also only bought 2 btw) don't bode well for our journey into our kids' primary sch journey  . Race haven't start yet, but the horses all got mixed-up already 😐 .

We intend to bring only the list containing the health booklet on the first day. Reason is that I think health booklet should be the most impt thing the FT have to settle on the first day of sch.
