Thanks for replying, E3. But...sorry, I am still confused!
E3 you're right. Just rang the sch office. Was told that for the first day, to bring the books listed based on 4th Jan, not 3rd Jan.markfch:

Hi, is your child going to P1 next year? Welcome!
Just follow the list based on 4th as first day of school. Teachers are pretty relaxed with the P1s on first week. No worries.
Based on above quote, I thought we should bring stuff stated for Jan 4 on Jan 4. But Trapwithin and you are saying we should bring stuff stated for Jan 3 on Jan 4, right?
Which is right? :?[/quote]That quote was implying what Trapwithin and I were implying too. markfch also meant that to pack the stuff based on 4th as the 1st day, not 3rd. You'll need to pack whatever items stated on 3rd Jan, on the 4th. Basically just follow the list as stated for the 4 days from Tue to Fri. Note: it's a schedule, not a time-table. It was an error that the schedule stated 3rd Jan as first day. Anyway, no worries, ya?
That's the fun of it. By the 2nd or 3rd day, you'll have everything figured out.

Guess you are right, should figure this out by day 2 or 3... but being ks, i think I will just bring both the stuff stated for Jan 3 & 4 on Jan 4!

I'll think that it's a little heavy to bring 2 days worth of books on the first day though. This confusion & the other one you mentioned about the broadline exercise books (we also only bought 2 btw) don't bode well for our journey into our kids' primary sch journey  . Race haven't start yet, but the horses all got mixed-up already

We intend to bring only the list containing the health booklet on the first day. Reason is that I think health booklet should be the most impt thing the FT have to settle on the first day of sch. -

Blessed New Year to All.
Recently there were some posts saying that P1 kids going to P2 this year will use Chinese for subject banding. There were also some guesses as to why they picked Chinese. Well, yesterday it suddenly occurred to me that in P2, the top 3 classes used to have more mo xie and cheng yu to learn compared to the other classes. Possibly this is the reason why Chinese needs to be banded in P2 this year since the classes are promoted en bloc? -
