our fourth trip, each time with a new baby šŸ˜›

This round, we spend 6D5N, 4N in Sunway, and 2N in Genting.

Sunway Pyramid is a bustling Mall, with tons of activities and restaurants.
You will need one day at Sunway Lagoon to fully explore the rides.

As we during the Festive season, you can see very shop and hotels decked to the nines!

I just came back from a short trip to Sunway Lagoon. For those thinking of going there, opt for Downtown East or own S'pore theme parks - much organised and definitely cleaner!

The waters were murky (trust me -couldn't see the bottom). It was a pretty disgusting sight at the Waterparks :scared: & you will know why after checking out my \"sightings\" below:-

        1. A ridiculous lady with tatto wearing stiletto high heels. She took them off and strode into the pool ... dragging along her heels FULLY SOAKED in the water. The lifeguard saw her but did nothing.

        2. Fully dressed people in pool ... ehm, including baju kurong? with tudung.

        3. Floats that were dragged for a distance carrying all the sands and muds into the water

        4. Food is a common sight (allowed?) near the pool. I meant near as in next to the poolside eating.

        .......

If you are there, remember to bring cash 'cos the entrance fees does not cover floats (RM10 for rental), certain rides/activities etc. Also do not be surprised to see couple of areas closed for maintenance even in this peak season and time.

My first and last trip to Sunway Lagoon.

          hi radiantMum,

that's the problem with Singapore. Everything is :
          - too neat
          - too clean
          - too orderly

For me, the pool is ok, I have seen worst haha.
It is an opportunity to allow my kids to see the \"real\" world,
bring them out of their sheltered cocoons šŸ˜‰

we had a lot of fun at Sunway Lagoon! Esp at the Water Park after a scorching afternoon of walking around the other theme parks.

Pictures and they are up on my girl's http://preciouscheryl.blogspot.com/2010/12/road-trip-with-racing-team-part-2.html

We stayed at the hotel just next to the theme park so after changing out of the dripping wet swimming costumes, we walked back to the hotel looking really like we just got out of the showers; untidy hair.

haha.. i mean, once in a while, it is nice to just let our hair down and not bother about appearances, esp when a lot of are doing that too since they also stayed at the nearby hotels. haha..

Going there in a group makes it more fun. The theme park has rides for adults and kiddos so the adults and children are having a good time.

I have been to Sunway a few years back and I can tell that it is not fantastically clean. But for Malaysian standards, it is generally ok.

I think must give and take when travel to foreign theme parks. If they are as good as Japan - the entrance fee and cost will also be like Japan šŸ™‚

I went to another Sunway Water Theme Park in Ipoh, and it was also quite good.

Best of all, it has hot springs and it is not as crowded as Sunway Lagoon.

U guys can try visitng the Lost World of Tambun. It's actually worth the trip! šŸ™‚

We planned to drive up to Sunway during June holiday and this is our first time driving to Malaysia with 3 kids. May I know is it safe to drive with kids or better to travel by coach?

Should be quite safe if you travel in the day.
Also safer if you are not driving luxury car.
Remember to buy car lock to lock your steering wheel when parking.
In addition, dress humbly and modestly.
Better not to carry a bag with important documents and cash.
I prefer to put these in a waist pouch, or in my pocket.

Drive during daytime, avoid ulu locations. (especially toilet breaks)
Best if you can drive in convoy, or follow another SG car up north.

I have been going up north almost once a year, touch wood still no close encounters. If it happens, it happens, do not struggle, lives are more important.

When driving with kids, I have the flexibility to plan my trip, stop/detour etc.
                        Much more convenient for me.
