Eng - B3

Raw score of R1B4 at 13 (edited) and that qualifies him for a second choice course in poly (first choice needs a raw score of 11 and so he may not get it coz COP keeps going lower each year).
His prelim R1B4 was a 26...
Miracles! -
For postings to RI/HCI, both cop are always identical ie nett 2/partial 3 for arts stream.
It literally means, students need to score perfect 6 with a pass for HMT and distinction for cca. -
So it means that those with 3 points will not stand a chance?
Thanks -

For those with raw 7-2-2=3, can place RI/HCI as top choice and prepare to appeal. Nothing to lose as VJC and NJC are within reach even if place as second choices. -

forging ahead is top Malay student Nadiah Nadhirah, who scored a distinction in Chinese, despite taking up the subject only in Secondary One.
She said: \"What we had to do was memorise all these Chinese characters and there were times when I felt like I wanted to quit Chinese. But motivation from my parents, my friends and my teachers enabled me to go all the way up to the O-Levels.\"
this is a role-model for all that say Chinese is too tough, especially for the Chinese race. -

This is certainly impressive. Did the article say why she took up Chinese? And is it Chinese as mother tongue or as 3rd language?Extracted from CNA

Your ds certainly excelled. You must be so happy.
To study in full spirit after his Prelim 26 points all the way up to first day of O levels was about 6 yo 7 weeks. It's really a miracle to me! Hope he really 开窍 finally. Still have to observe some more...Pen88n:

I am more confident with him in his poly years and I think he will really shine there studying something of his interest plus all those interesting CCAs (rock climbing and dragon boating). He just secured for himself three good years of fun!
