Interesting to see how the top institutes have run away, but positions 9-13 seem to have maintained their COP for science, even compared to our time 20+ years ago (at least how I remembered it)

My dd has L1R5 of 3, so if she failed to get into the top 2JC, what is the criteria for appealing? She was a sch netball player ,cross country and piano grade 8. Do these help? Or any other criteria they are looking for?. Thanks

If my daughter got L1r5 17 as a raw score does she still have a good chance of going to cjc given that she is has 2 bonus pts as affiliated school plus another 2 points for cca making her score 13 at the end while cjc art stream being at 11pts?

I am afraid not. Go to another jc that she is eligible. Alternatively, she may consider poly education.

Base on your input, her case must be 7-4=3. If she has a good HMT score place HCI as top choice if not, place RI as top. She may still stand a chance depending on the others competitiveness.

Her competitors in appeal cases are mainly from the following situation:

              1. 9 A1s without HMT/ Good cca grade.- this group will get it as they are the nation's highest scorers.

              2. 8A1s with 2-3 bonus points.

              3. Other high scorers with talent in sports or arts.

Place your preferred choice as no 1 as neither jc entertains second choice.

How they seperate COP for Arts & Science seperately! I tot it was based on subject combination . I guess my question is when is student considered to have admitted as Arts student... if they drop science & maths , then considered as Arts students?

A science student has subject combination of 2-3 H2 math/science subjects. One cannot opt to transfer from art to science.

I made a typo error which i had just edited. As long as a student has 2 or more math/science subjects at H2 level, he/she is considered a science student.

Those students offering 2 H2 math/science + 2H2 arts are also regarded as science students.

One of the most common mistakes make by parents/students each year is they base strictly on cop without much consideration on subject combination.

Example, they will put their preferred jc -science as top choice follow by arts as second choice even if their domain is science inclined. In this instance, they just meet the cop for science. They get posted to the jc of their choice in the arts stream and struggle to handle the humanities.

Subject combination is anytime much more important than choice of jc.
How can we tell how good a JC is other than the COP? Where can we find info on the A-level results for eg the past few years and perhaps the average COP of their students to see what kind of value-add that JC has?
