We are staying within 1 km from East Spring too. I asked some parents & tutors. Some have good feedback some don't. Some said lack in the academic standard.
I think a lot of parents choose East Spring is because of location wise, as within 1 km from this school have quite a number of HDB flat. -
Hi
Any parents register their child in Poi Ching today for phase 2B? Just want to gauge how’s the respond as I’ve heard from parents who went to RSS and Temasek Primary, there were almost 20-50 parents who have registered just in the morning itself.
Please provide some updates as I can’t wait till end of tomorrow to see the remaining vacancies for Phase 2C. -
You can call up Poi Ching to check. Usually schools will reveal the numbers as some parents has to make decisions if they are eligible for more than one school.
-
oh ya, silly me. Thanks Red_Rhino for the advice, have already enquired from the school. Think this whole registration has really stressed out all parents with kids going P1 next year.

A friend of a friend has this update about the balloting situation of Phase 2B at St H :
Applications (within 1 km) : 28
(out of 1 but within 2 km) : 18
(out of 2 km) : 33
Total No. of Applications : 79 vying for 45 places
Applicants (within 1 km) :
All 28 applicants have been successfully registered
Applicants (out of 2 km) :
We regret to inform that you have not been successful in your registration. Thank you for your interest
Applicants (out of 1 but within 2 km) :
18 applicants will ballot for 17 vacancies. Originally, balloting is supposed to take place on Wed and only ONE family would be balloted out. Applicants are strongly advised to be present to witness the process.
However subsequently, the principal decided to \"absorb\" the 18th registrant and save time and do away with the planned balloting. Thank goodness the friend of a friend got a place for the son
Now, the not so good news for the PV moms living >2 km from the school... they are quite devastated as ALL 33 of them are OUT with no chance of ballot even. Some of these moms have clocked in many hours of PV. So this comes as a BIG blow to them .. -

Wow... this is some story... hope it doesn't cause a hue and cry regarding that 18th registrant. Tempers can run pretty high during these times.A friend of a friend has this update about the balloting situation of Phase 2B at St H :

Anyway, congrats to all those that managed to get their children into St. Hilda's. For those who didn't, take this as a blessing in disguise. Your children can excel in other good schools in Tampines. -
mum2one:
All 33?! Does it mean that those who managed to get in are ONLY clan/church members and active community leader?

I think mum2one is refering to those PVs outside of the 2km zone. There were 33 of them. I'm sure there were PVs in the 45 or 46 successful applicants.
