[/quote]Hi, my son was in ISpark and took LEP and 3rd Language. He is now in CSE doing China study. Spoke to him last night and he said that LEP is actually very light and an appreciation of the past works. I don't think it is difficult to manage both. BTW, he had only Merit in PSLE HCL and prior to P6, he was told that he wont make it for HCL. So if he is now interested in Chinese enough to do China Study, I think we should be open to let our sons try it if they do not violently object. My experience with HCI teachers, (though only ISparks) are that they are very caring and have good knowledge of our boys. Do encourage your son to approach them for advice and make decision from there.
hihi, may i ask does the 260 t-score incl HCL points in order to be eligible for LEP?pinky88:

Sori for any :? caused. Just received SMS from ds that he has been offered LEP.
I m not sure if it will clash with any other activity? As well as your concerns abt drop out mid way & exam. however I understand such prog will further help in CL learning. -

Thanks for sharing. Care to share also how long he took LEP and 3rd language ? Did he include LEP and 3rd lang in his MSG? Is he currently in CSE-B class? -

Hi, my son is still doing his 3rd language in French, but being actively involve in class and cca, there is a possibility he might drop later. The criteria is that if there are too many homeworks that eats into his bedtime of 11:00 pm. I am not sure of the answer for the rest of questions. Let me ask him and get back tmr. Understand that your son is in Sec 3 too, is he is B class?MumMum:

Hi my DD1 is in NYGH sec 1 now and she indicated Girl Guides as her 1st choice CCA. Saw someone wrote in certain thread (forgotten which one) that there'll be no more uniform groups in JC. So when my DD1 cross over the bridge to join HCI later, must she join some other CCA ? Btw is CCA compulsory in JC? :? TIA

Hi cascada, I think come to JC, students can reselect CCA. Certain CCA may extend to JC, like softball. But I thot it is good to try new thing. Long ago, they used to have uniform group like NPCC, but they don't practice like high school. Instead they go help up training in secondary schools.Does anyone know where to find list of CCA available at JC section? Will there still be uniform groups cos I understand there are JCs don't have UG.
DS planned to go for basketball trial but he just found out there is RS today (he's quite blur sotong), so may have to forgo trial. He went for softball trial yesterday.
How was the result of your ds softball trial? My ds did not get Chinese Chess. -

I don't remember seeing Guides at JC. Guess they might not want to wear that uniform again by then
Your DD1 may need to reselect CCA after she cross over the bridge. I think JC has a different list of CCA but some are same as high school such as calligraphy, chinese orchestra, band, but I don't see them practice togather with high school leh when I was there on the open day.

For HCI, the Boy Scouts become Venture Scouts in Year 4 and they are carry on into JC as Venture Scouts, if they r still interested in scouting. Girl Guides should run parallel to this route. Ask ur DD to cfm with her seniors. -

at JC level the scouts are scouting for GF and the guides will be busy guiding the scouts on the romantic path ....lolningy:
