Thanks for your tickling consolation... :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Think of it another way. When it's time for PSLE, your dd will be fresh and raring to go wherelse the rest tyre punctured already. :evil:Happy Mama:
I am beginning to feel the stress now, but DD is so calm and relaxed. It really scares me when I see her so relaxed, playing and watching TV, while all her other friends are studying so hard as if PSLE is round the corner. -

DS is quite familar with HYPY cos well trained by Berries & kindy PRC teacher. So he always complains that he finds HCL lessons boring. In his own words he said: 'I find chinese boring but I pretend to be interested so that teacher will not scold me.' Haha, 6 yrs old knows how to pretend already.
Some thinks that they will get bored, but another way of looking at it .. they are doing 2nd round revision when the teacher are teaching.
Hmm, wonder if he does the same acting in front of me? :? -
Happy Mama:
Precisely, but my DD doesn't like reading and finds it a chore more than an excitement. I am trying to change her.
Possibly. I read the press release before it was published. Still, language is still more predictable than Science. For years, there is no change in rules or the way of answering. In order to do well for languages, you just need to be an avid reader and write alot.E3:

Looks like they are doing that for the CL now
Chinese books are worse. She told me last night that she doesn't like reading anything in Mandarin at all :!: Oh dear, she's becoming like Mummy!![/quote]I don't even watch Chinese news...stressful to use brain to understand what news reader is talking. My son doesn't like to read but I keep telling him it's good for his compo...so forget about Chinese books. He watches Chinese dramas though. -
Happy Mama:
That's good in a sense. So mummy, start setting the example, ya?
Oh dear, she's becoming like Mummy!!.
Since you get distinction for Chi before, it shouldn't be too hard for u.

My son tells me he keeps quiet in class so that his teachers won't complain about him and praise him for being a 'model student'. But yaks non-stop the moment he reaches home. He can even tell me that his teachers find him a 'good boy'. OMG.

for her science and english, i cannot involve in even a little bit...so the new or old syllabus, i dont have any concept. what i can do, is try to chasing her to learn more in advance for any subjects. my idea is, when she is in p6 whole year, let she do psle exam papers over and over and over again. -

Noooo... I got my distinctions by luck

I'm not sure if this is reflective of MOE teachers in general but I always feel that PH female teachers have a typical strait laced look. I had this impression when I was doing PV and even now as I picked ds up daily from sch the same impression continued.
My son tells me he keeps quiet in class so that his teachers won't complain about him and praise him for being a 'model student'. But yaks non-stop the moment he reaches home. He can even tell me that his teachers find him a 'good boy'. OMG.
I wonder if this is because nowadays kids are harder to manage and only a non-nonsense appearance will help to control them? :? . Btw, this is just an observation, not a complaint hor ..... in case there're any teachers reading this post. -

Oh...have you seen teachers from some neighbourhood schools? PH's teachers would have appeared friendly compared to them. Complaint from my dd's friends' parents is you don't see any of their dds' teachers smiling even once, not even during PTM.
