I agree with verykiasu2010 on all the positive attributes of NYPS :D. So far, I am still impressed with the curricullum and Chinese culture of NYPS (kid in P3 now) and the relentless effort of the sch in providing an all rounded education for every child. My DS had almost zero homework in P1 too and not much in P2 (P3 yet to see).

NYPS and ACS have very different culture and are both good schools sought after by many parents. At the end of the day, Cambriant, you just need to decide which sch best meet the needs of your child. U are lucky since not many parents are in such good position as U are !

Btw, I knew of another parent in NYPS who is similar to you, ie hubby fm ACS and she fm NYPS. Her first son went to ACS and daughter came to NYPS

i tend to agree with what has been said about NYPS. its been a relatively good journey so far with my boy in P3 this year.

with reference to the affiliation, as i have no girls in the family, my concerns are genuine. i am concerned what happens to my boys after their PSLE. with affiliation, the girls stand a "better" chance of getting into NYGS but what about the boys? any chance of NYGS accepting boys soon? else, does anyone know where the boys of NYPS end up after their PSLEs?

You are right, indeed it is a concern  I think for us, we need to make sure πŸ™ that our sons do well at the PSLE (since no affiliation) and start working on DS's strenght for possible DSA. In P1, I had also heard fm one parent that some NYPS parents, esp those with kids of average results, would transfer their sons after P3 to other schools with affiliation.

            Hi parents

We are keen to let our daughter go for the coming Shanghai Aerospace study trip, she needs to attend a interview tomorrow at 2pm. Anyone knows how the school does the selection for such trips?

transferring theirs sons after P3 to other schools with affiliation ---> that's a little drastic isn't it? i don't think i will subject my son to that. just hoping that he gets into a \"decent\" secondary school.

by the way, does anyone know which are the common secondary schools do the boys from NYPS go to?

on a separate topic. my son finally got his time-table. he's doing PE 3 times a week - which in my opinion, is more palatable then the original 5 times a week.

out of so many gep centres, my girl is only interested in NYPS. Now she is in there, we are all very happy and glad that she has chosen the right school. No regrets.
