I got the Buttlefly 'Stayer' model for $30 after discount from a small shop on the 2nd level at Queensway. My colleague says 'Stayer' means it helps the player to stay in the game :scratchhead: .

I wanted to buy a mid-range, double-sided bat with a short handle since ds's hands are still small. So that's what I got. Was tempted to get the Butterfly pro bat (boasting better spin & power) at $49.90 but decided not to give sch even the slightest hint that ds is in any way talented in tt, haha.

In any case, you're absolutely right. It's the courage of participation that counts ultimately. I strongly believe that a student who is trained to compete against the best despite the possibility of losing will grow up to do very well in life because he/she will not be afraid of failure next time. And we all know that it's this fear of failure that is the biggest glass ceiling to our career progression.

Getting another bat is easy. It's finding a suitable tt table that is challenging. I saw a tt table in one of the void decks at Toh Yi but upon closer examination, found out its surface is rougher than my face.

Liddat how to use it to train ds? I wonder if the BT CC comes with tt facility (oh no, I'm getting all excited about tt oredi despite my initial restraint).

Yes I think you can book the tt table at BT CC, but the hall can be quite stuffy since they don't switch on the air-con.
