Yes it's possible, and children develop their hearing best between 3.5-6year old. In the future having a chance close to perfect pitch is higher too. However a patient teacher is needed, and also not to let the child lose interest in music. Some teachers find it hard to communicate with children at that age and will choose to teach them at around 5 year old.

I am also looking for a piano lesson for a 6 yr old preparing for grade 1. He has been learning for 2.5 years but his current teacher didn’t seem to be a good fit.


We stay near holland but don’t mind to travel to the west for the lesson.
