For sure it's demolishing the existing schools and rebuilding on that land. But not sure about whether is it all the land there. The school was offered part of the land some years back, after RI and RJC moved there, but they turned it down becos the land was smaller than RI's. Then just 1-2 yr ago they were offered the same location, but larger land - and they finally accepted.[/quote]Is it same size as RI? Come to think about it. What excuse does MOE has for offering RGS a smaller piece of land than RI?
Is it the old schools site? Braddell secondary school, westlake secondary school and westlake primary school. Is it the entire place? It will be super big. Or is it part of that piece of old schools land?WeiHan:

directly across Bradell Road from RI ?
1. Both have same number of students.
2. Both are government schools.
3. RGS piece of land is more valuable than RI's.
Are we still a sexist society that girl's school should be smaller than boy's school? -

now that all those schools along Bradell had moved out, can draw bigger lot lar, plus the anderson road area worth a lot more now too -

Anyway, think got bit more space than RI. But location is perhaps not as good as RI, which is nearer to Junction 8. But no choice already in suppose. -

Hi fatal-illuxions,
Hi, I'm not very sure 'cause im not in any of them.sleeping beauty:
Hi fatal illuxions,
Do u happen to know the CCA leadership points awarded to the lead boards?
Do Prefects, PSLs & Congress members receive the same points for the same number of years of service?
Thanks!
What I'm sure of is the points increase by the number of years of service and also the position that you're in(whichever lead board you're in) I once glanced at the list of points for prefects, the head prefect gets 8 points for her service.
the number of points awarded should be about the same, unless you're in special positions like Head of the boards, esp the head prefect as mentioned above.
The number of points doesnt really matter for students in IP programmes, it only matters when you're in JC. But anyway, usually one should be able to get the top grade (A+) for LEAPS(cca points), due to the few commitments that you'll have by the end of sec4.
You can only be a prefect OR a PSL, in addition to congress and house committee if you get in to any. Also, other factors for LEAPS are The positions in CCA, competitions, positions in class committee, CIP hours..
Let me know if you want the exact points for the different Lead Boards, i should be able to get it from my friends.
So in order to get A+ in year 4 for cca how many points do a student need to collect?
The numbers of point will carry up to JC? Or the grade will be carry up? If the point will carry up is it will continue with the point collected in JC?
thanks! -

and No. none of the points or the grades will be carried up to JC. for IP students like us, the grades and points are \"just for show\", it looks nicer on the end of year report for Sec4.
In RP, we'll receive a Raffles Diploma, that covers all aspects of a student's journey in RJC. academics, aesthetics, CCA, etc. Everyone will get this thing by the end of J2, provided you meet the minimum requirements (which is really really easy to meet). Your child will learn more about this when she comes to RJC, it's far too complicated for me to explain

Hi Fatal-illuxions,
On another note, what good does RA do at Year 3 and Year 4? Is it considered bonus? Does it make admission to JC easier? Will it also be carried forward to JC?
Thanks in advance. -

Hi fatal-illuxions,
One more Q, so when a student go to RJC she can choose for another CCA? Or stay back to her RGS CCA ?fatal-illuxions:

HI!Hi fatal-illuxions,

it depends on what CCA you are from.
If you in a sports CCA, the chances are you can \"direct admission\" into the JC counterpart, provided that they have the cca, eg, basketball, shooting etc.
some performing arts have a similar system too, eg, Chinese Orchestra.
if you dont want to cont the cca, you can always go for trials/auditions/interviews for other cca
CCAs that RJC dont have, means you'll definitely have to go for trials all over again in JC, eg, uniform groups. -

i asked my friend who's in RA haha, cos im notHi Fatal-illuxions,
On another note, what good does RA do at Year 3 and Year 4? Is it considered bonus? Does it make admission to JC easier? Will it also be carried forward to JC?

its a really good exposure. cos the ra curriculum is accelerated and you'll cover much more stuff that is not done in the normal syllabus.
there are also like additional tests and projects, which ensures that the material is understood. also the pracs and research that you do are like really in depth.
generally better discussion and more depth is covered.
it doesnt like help in adding points or stuff like that but the content that you cover for ra really helps, as in cos its all stuff at jc or even higher level, so content wise you're better off!
it has nothing to do with the admission to JC, afterall no matter what, as long as you dont screw up your sec4 year, you'll go up.
It doesnt continue in JC, you'll have to take placement tests all over again to see if you'll qualify for RA in JC. but it should be pretty fine cos they mostly test what is possibly taught in RGS.
so yupp
