Casio has keyboards, Yamaha has keyboards. Yamaha avail at all Yamaha stores, Casio avail at Giant, and all big stores. I would recommend getting a keyboard with actual size keys, ie not the slim ones with slim keys.

I suggest looking online for a secondhand one if you intend for your son to learn on the keyboard for only a few months. If really used for a few months, the keyboard would become a white elephant fast.

Try ebay.com.sg or http://www.soft.com.sg/classified/g8-keyboard.html, which is a more music dedicated site, but might have some keyboards for sale too. You might want to google \"keyboard sale wts singapore\" for more options.

As recommend by the piano teacher, piano selection should get those that are hard type keys. Meaning it take more strength to play. I do notice that U3 they are lighter as compare with Kawai.

Recommend is to get piano from european brand as they offer the hard key types. Sadly to said all these are assembled in China. Doubt the QC would be good a not.

Sorry but I don't agree with you on this. German pianos are generally considered as the best of breed. However in order to survive in the new economy, these venerable brands have to evolve to serve several market segments. An example of an excellent brand will be C Bechstein, catering exclusively to those with deep pockets, who wants and can afford the best. Within the parent company, you then have the Bechstein Academy (by no means cheap), W. Hoffmann (mid-tier) and Zimmerman (lowest end).

The Germans always retain manufacture of their best pianos within their own country. For mid-tier pianos, they may outsource them to countries like the Czech republic to reduce cost. Only their lowest end piano will they outsource to other parts of the world. Of course there may be exceptions to this but this is true as far as I know.

For China made pianos, much has been mentioned about the Hailun brand so I'll leave you to judge for yourself.

Sorry do not have much knowledge on german piano, so they are also the hard type? Well maybe 5 years later China piano can be on par with japanese piano. They had constructed rocket, so whatelse they can't construct?

Managed to check that Hailun is selling at nett price of $3,500 if paying by cash. 5 years later can get back 50% , warranthy 10 years wow so good provided the shop don't wind down the business.

In economic terms, it's those German piano companies that are in danger of folding rather than the Chinese companies. For instance, the German brand Schimmel was bought over by Yamaha and the other brand Seiler is bought over by Samick (Korean). One or two of the smaller German brands have gone under such as Ibach.

China is always good at copying but sadly they never match up in terms of quality…

So have to get keyboards with at least 88 keys same as the piano? Saw those also cost around $1.5K ++ which maybe cost almost 1/4 of the price of old U3 or Kawai piano!

I got my girl’s piano in Nov last yr. At Textile ctr which former known as Prince Piano. The owner, Desmond, formerly was a piano tuner and he carries mostly Kiawa and Yamaha brands. If u are serious buyer, bargain with him, his price is better than Cristofori which i realised when i sourcing piano for my girl.

I bot a kiawa brand, it’s hieght is 131cm (any height above 121cm is exam model) and 30 yr old, cost me $3k+. Thereafter, i made enquire with Cristorfori who has lower range and the price is higher. So, I were happy that i have gd buy from Desmond, plus the take back value is better than cristofri

Before i went to desmond, I did go to Kallang liesure, what i learn from them were, their used piano also imported from Japan and not spore. Used piano from jpn is better than spore 'cos of climate and japaness can take care better than us. Which desmond said the same thing. I didnt get it from kallang liesure maybe it could the price is quoted to me was quite high and i didnt want to do any offer.

Japan brand is more reliable and resale value is better than any other brand. Keyboard feels is diff from piano.
