      Synthesis & Transformation Question:

      1. This cushion is too soft for me. That cushion is too hard for me.
Ans: Neither cushion is just right for me.

      2. There are two pot of cactuses. The cactuses are dying.
Ans. Neither of the two pot of cactuses are growing.

When do we use 'of the...'? In 1, we do not need to specify Neither of the two cushion', but in 2, we need to do so. :?
Neither cushion ------> cushion is singular

Neither of the two pot of cactuses --->\"two pots of cactuses\" is plural.

      It is like:

      One apple is good.
One of the two apples is good.

Also, I think it should be \"Neither of the two pots of cactuses is growing.\"

      HTH.

I would think answer is 3. Reason being you are referring to the shop you visited earlier.

            Can it be (1)?
My own intepretation is that 'those' are used for something 'over there' that can still be seen by the person.
