All About Primary Schools' Balloting History
-
Hi, JonC:
Thanks for the info. it’s good to know before the decision made. Yes, my daughter currently studys in a reputable school in Shanghai. She will get to middle school next year in terms of Chinese Ministry of Education system. I was planning to send her to Singapore for further education, however I don’t know if international students only can get in the neighbour schools in stead of the reputable schools.
Would you please refer me the names of good schools which are suitable for international students, it doesn’t mean the top one as Raffles’ girl school as I heard. We may rent a apartment first, so no problem for the distance.
Thanks!

hi tina2001
once you have shortlisted the schools (reputable or neighbourhood schools), maybe you could give them a call and talk to the vice principal or principal to check on the procedures.
i am sure the schools would need your child to sit for some entrance exams.
we did likewise before we moved back to singapore.
cheers
p.s. do you mind sharing which school in shanghai your child is attending because i am thinking of sending mine over. -
Got it! I do appreciate all your help although I didn't get in the proper forum. It's so kind of you.
My daughter is currently studying at Shanghai Jian Xiang primary school, I definitely know all the schools in SH if you're interested to know more details. Please feel free to contact me at email: [email protected] if you have any questions about \"Living in SH\".
Cheers! -
Try this,
1. http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_AdvSearch.asp
2. Click only the SQUARE BOX of \"Level of Education
3. Click \"Submit\"
You will see all the schools in Singapore and their respective websites from,
1. Primary School (Primary 1 to 6)
2. Secondary Schools
3. Mixed Level School (Primary 1 to Secondary 4, usually the reputable schools)
4. IP / IB School (Secondary 1 to JC2)
5. Junior Colleges -
Another valuable info. Thx!

tina2001,
thanks for your information.
xyz1,
hi, i want to send kids there during the june holidays for just a few weeks. my good friend over there did checked out a few schools but they suggested that we do the summer holiday programmes. but we are unable to because spore schools starts in july. so now looking for moer schools to see if can be done as i prefer my kids to do the china regular school programmes and not those holiday planned programmes.
but i think june holidays might be too short a stay so might look at nov/dec holidays as well.
cheers
