Hi all,

I am planning to re-employ a maid that used to work for me a few yrs back. I would like to find out how to go about it. Do I still have to go through maid agency to settle for me or otherwise?

You can log on to MOM website for Domestic Helper application and start from there - step by step.

oh thanks! then do u make the your maid pay for anything as through agent they would need to repay for loans or other stuffs :?

I intend to rehire my previous maid if this present one does not want to renew her contract.

I will pay for her airfare, medical checkups, insurance and the necessary that needs to be done for the Singapore side. However, I expect her to pay for her passport.

I only let her pay for all the costs involved - much lesser than the agent’s loan. Something like $50 off every month until all costs are covered.

Any idea anyone? my fren intends to bring this indon maid who now in indonesia to Spore to work for her. The maid used to work for her brother in Msia. But i check with maid agency, they said impossible, unless she is put under thir maid training centre and go through the 400 english questions practise, then they can bring her here , and go thru the same, take loan of 6 months salary to maid agency.
