It depends if you believe in affiliation or not. I am a strong believer in having affiliated sec, which is why I registered my gal in IJ TP instead of son's school which has no affiliation.hi everyone,
I'm also registering my eldest this year....
so excited but confused at the same time....
anyone can share if ij toa payoh better or marymount?
I'm an old gal of IJ TP...so naturally I would want her there. Principal is warm, caring and motherly. However, the teachers are rather ON. -

Agree with janet_lee88. Better to go for those with affiliation. I'm also old gal of IJ TP and have nieces currently studying in Marymount. Both schools are okay. For IJ TP, there's affiliation to sec school and teachers there don't only focus on the top class so you can be sure your gal should be taken care of.

My son is sitting for his PSLE next year (Dragon year)...told him to buck up.
I love the atmosphere in IJ TP...the principal and teachers are warm, HODs reply promptly and I guess the feeling is just great...very different from son's school and I am convinced we registered her in the right school (although son's school is co-ed and nearby). -

Hi, I am new here. Started reading this cos I thought I should get some ideas first though my son is not due for registration until 2012 (2013 intake).
I am Christian so I want my son to be in a Christian school. I have 2 school of choice & unfortunately, both I have no affliation with cos I was from RGPS and I cant register my son there. DH school in the East & no longer around.
Choice of school:
1. ACS (Primary)
2. Fairfield Methodist (submitted PV & awaiting for school to call in June)
3. ACS (Junior)
Any other Christian schools around? Not keen on Catholic schools if given a choice. Residence wise, I am flexible as I am currently staying with my parents & depending on where we want to register my son, we will move near there. I understand the min. validity of address is 6 mths prior to registration but heard of cases where they got the address 2 weeks prior.
Good to hear any recommendations.
St Andrews and St Hilda's are Christian (Anglican) schools -
thanks janet and blurblur....
I do believe in affiliation too becos my 2nd ger is weaker.... glad to hear that the environment is gd...
May i know what will be the kickstart to P1 registration? I'm super blur and am afraid to have missed out anything haha

Hi all,
I live in BT area and schools like NYP, PH, MGS are impossible to get in if I am not in the PV program nor stay within 1km… The other choice for me is Bukit Timah Primary School…however, seldom see ppl giving comment on this school… does anyone has any comment on this school?
Thanks. -

The environment/culture in IJ TP is not bad...teachers are responsible. When I pick my daughter after school and meet her form teacher, she does feedback to me areas which I need to look out for. -
was up the whole night reading through the threads and finally grasp these 2A2, 2C
my intital intention was Lakeside Primary since I was too late for PV for Nan Hua (being more than 2KM doesn't help either).
but recently, I found out Qifa is much nearer to my place but sadly still 2.7km away
. The drive is really quick (2 mins) with just a straight road though.
Was reading the balloting history and found that Qifa has balloting lol....
so here I am worried what if the ballot isn't my favor?
- Registered at 2A2 at Lakeside
- Can I still ballot at Qifa?
I read the forums and some people are doing this but I am still figuring how it works. -
Kissgurami:
If you or hubby are former students of Lakeside, then you can register your child under 2A2 at that school. Secure a place first.was up the whole night reading through the threads and finally grasp these 2A2, 2C

If you want to go for Qifa, then you have to give up your place in Lakeside...if you get balloted out at Qifa, you cannot go back to Lakeside.
