Ya, I am trying to get DD to come up with a time-table too. I've been saying this for the longest time, since DD was in P1, but somehow, the time-table never materialised.

Yes, in the meantime, let's let our hair down and enjoy the one week holiday! As Stephen Covey says in his 7th Habit... Let's \"Sharpen our Saw\"!!! Only then do we have the energy and stamina to \"cheong\" hard for SA1. :celebrate: :celebrate:

:hi5: :celebrate: Yeh, will celeb this weekend til nex Wes. Den Thur have to start workg hard or come SA1 results, I get :spank: till i hv to dial to u for help :?:[/quote]Yes, I'm looking 4wd to next week's break as she is going to be sick, a little cough happnend.

I've always looked forward to PTCs as I take Teachers' feedback positively and take it as an opportunity to understand DD's strengths and weaknesses and hear from the horses' mouth how DD performs in class etc. DD's results never fail to improve by leaps and bounds after the PTCs since Pri 1. I am hoping for the same this year too!
Good for you. Maybe being a SAHM, I already know my dd inside-out so I don't need to listen to 客套话. Just say that I am very pragmatic and task-oriented, so I need constructive information, not decorative.

I always attend with hubby...well, women can be sensitive and take it negative sometimes but when I asked hubby if he felt the points/tone mentioned are helpful or not, he told me that certain teacher gave useful ones while the other 2 were not...so it's not that I'm overly sensitive.
Soli janet, I'm not implying that you are in any way. 😉

Poor mama. DDs didn't do well but mama gets the blame. Don't know whether if my ds doesn't do well, dw will give me the same treatment or not? :?
          Periwinklejoy:
I tink it really depends on Ts style, some are v encouraging and positive, so they only give gd feedback and package negative traits of kids to be common traits of kids, so just need to 'encourage' and work on them, like, being less careless with work, paying more attention in class, reading more, conversing more in Mandarin etc.
I actually prefer that negative feedback not be grossed over. I find negative feedback that is straight to the pt and supported by examples to be of the most value. Even if I don't agree, I'll keep quiet or just pretend to act surprise.

              IJJ:

After reading it, I still standby (1). I think it is more appropriate because there is someone wanting to know(ply) more information. Secretive workable, but 'tight-lipped' has more 'feel' in it.

Agree! Actually I thought the answer was pretty obvious... and DD chose (1 tight-lipped) as the answer. Didn't realise the complexities until I see it being brought up here. Hehehe! 😉 😉

The reason why I brought it up was not cos my dd got it incorrect, it's because I felt that the English language is so subjective and also it really depends on one's opinion of the correct answer. Last year, there was one question from the P2 SA2 EL OE comprehension, my dd changed her answer after some thought and got that correct. Only a few students got the answer right so you see, most kids might think simply and write down what they think at first glance. For those who think deeper and analysed the question, they can change their \"fate\"...not so serious lah....

Anyway, for this question, my dd also thought of the first answer at first, cos it's straightforward like you said, but she read too much into it and chose (2). Well...at least she was thinking and I know as long as she keeps thinking, she'll ultimately learn the right skill, and not go wrong. 😉

Agree cos my dd got this question wrong! She thinks too much. What an irony, thinks too much also wrong, doesn't think also wrong. She felt the little kids all ran to help out so should be 合作,instead of 关怀. You can't 搭配 合作 with 互相. It's usually 分工合作。Like you've mentioned, the scenario doesn't seem appropriate in showing 关怀.

Do they Have Choices of Words Given for this Q?
MayBe Out of the Whole List of Words Given, this Could Be the Best Choice? (But Not Necessarily the Most Appropriate?)

Haven't you heard of the proverb \"Little drops of water, little grains of sand, make the mighty ocean and the pleasant land\"?

So that's how my \"a little here and there\" contributed to GM3.

then his kindy teachers feedback that he has been tellin his classmates that Mommy no longer has time for him, and only loves him when he does his work.. 😢 that was quite sobering to hear..

Hope this doesn't rub off my ds hor. :nailbite:

I must subtlely coax ds to reveal what he thinks about me too.
