I feel weird too but I don’t mind them watching me change in my underwear. No full nudity in front of my boy now. In front of baby is OK. My DH is even more conservative. He doesn’t even like to dress up in front of my boy or me! My baby gal likes to watch her brother bathe and vice versa. I try not to make it an issue but now trying to get him to close the bathroom door. I also tell my boy to do something else instead of standing in the bathroom while I am bathing my baby gal.

well, i don’t know what adverse effect it will have on kids who sees their parents naked. But i did heard my colleague ever mentioned she had a shock of her life (she was in her adulthood already) when she accidentally saw a naked man as she has never seen one in her entire life (she had one other sister only and her parents are super conservative one). So now, she’s very open about nudity to her kids as they don’t want them to be like her. I ever heard also, some girls asking their mum what’s the ‘thing’ sticking out of a baby boy, as they’ve never seen it before. And thus prompt me to think, if they dont’ see it at home, from their parents, how would they know and how can they see them in real life??

I grew up in a family where my parents were very liberal. No, they did not walk around naked, but if we happen to see them naked, there is no big issue. That means, when they are in the toilet, they do not lock it and if we happen to enter it accidentally, there is no embarrassment about it. It is just part and parcel of life.

I think that's the key to being naked in front of kids. 😉 It's the attitude rather than the clothes (or lack of) that matters. However I do tell ds1 that some parts of the body are private and they should guard against strangers in public toilets.

My DD is 4yo this yr and my DS is 13mths. I bath together with my DD since she is as young a baby and now she has been asking me this and that. I told her the fact and what is the correct term to use.

She saw the 'blood' coming out from me and asked me why mummy is bleeding :faint: ... I was trying very hard to explain to a 3yo kid but I doubt I did a good job..

My DD saw DH naked too when he is bathing as our bathroom door can be seen through. At the moment we are still ok with it. We change in front of her too.

When my DD bath together with DS, she asked me what is that when pointing in front of DS. Told her that is for passing urine for boy. Boy has it and girls don't. From then onwards, she didnt ask me again.

I think its ok for them to learn and see now rather than older when conversation starts to get more embarassing.

I think I will stop my DH to bath my girl when she turns 5 or 6yo.

I taught my DD on that too. She cannot be touched by anyone except we parents and female teacher in school during bathing.

But i guess you r not the only one doing that.. Sharing an incident with you.. there was once i overheard conversation of kids in DS former childcare...

                  Child A says:\"My daddy \"XXX\" got hair.. \"
                  Child B says:\"My daddy oso got alot\"
Child C says:\"My mummy don't have \"XXX\".. She got neh neh.. and forest!! Mummy say i drink milk from her neh neh when i'm baby.. So i win..\" :!: :!:

I seriously didn't know how to react.. the kids are comparing these in school.. :stupid:

I guess 'neh-neh' and forest were introduced to the kids by their parents. If not I don't think how they would ever know to refer hair -> forest 😐

My DD asked me before on the hair part, I just replied her that when she is big girl, she will be the same as mummy.

I guess it will all goes down to how parents educate their kids on the body parts.

Haha, my boy's classmate says his dad told him the hair around the pubic region was called \"Bushy\"...

When my boy asked what the menstrual pad was for, I told him it was like his diapers...

That was on my mind too when my DD asked me that.. :hi5: but the 'blood' was her first priority to her question rather than the 'diaper'.. haha
