Not that i have tried many different brands to make recommendation

I had only tried two brand so far, the one from Vigor has a nicer crust and not too sweet fillings, but a little more expensive. 😞

Jerky are not sausage. But ang mo type of bak kua. Stronger in taste and nit oily. Comes in varying degree of tenderness.

      😄

        Anybody been to

        (1) Five Dime Driftwood Restaurant for a meal? How's the food and charges like?
        (2) Wulai Old Street?

        Worth making a trip there?
        Thanks.
        (1) Five Dime is a chain of theme restaurant, serving kind of like fusion type of Chinese dishes. The building and deco are very interesting, but the food is only so so.

I recommend Vigor too. Not preservatives added and definitely not too sweet. One of their newer pdt is the black charcoal pineapple biscuit.

I joined a tour in Jun 2010 and the guide took us to Vigor. The shop allows sampling of pineapple biscuit, sun cake, green bean biscuit, almond, etc- a very generous serving (comes in a long tray). Their dried fruit (persimmon, mango) so-so only. The black sesame sticky sweet quite fragrant.

Going Taipei next Saturday. Very excited to stay in the apartment called Taipei York. Anyone heard of it?

P.S If it was mentioned in previous pages, would appreciate it if you could give me the link. I just jumped straight to the last page of the post.
Hi Triplediao. Did you stay in Taipei York during your last Taiwan trip? Any review? It looks very grand from the website. Wondering whether it is as good as it shown from the website.

            Thanks.

Never been to Taiwan before, but joining a local tour as Hong Thai refuses to refund fully for my trip to Sendai in Mid April 2011. They only allow a transfer of destination. So being stuck with them in a way. Anyone had silimar experiences with the group or itenary i am going? Pls let me know whether is Hong Thai’s strength in Taiwan?

Anyone been to Taiwan on a tour pkg before? Which agent is good and what are the places to visit? Also what is the price range like???

We will have at least 4 senior citizens, 3 children (6 - 10) and both of us. So thinking of getting a pkg tour this time round.

dh and I went with 3 young children and 1 senior citizen 3 years ago. We joined nam ho. They allocated us to Keelim (麒麟)hotel on the first night which was full of awful smell. i spare my new perfume bought at changi airport to stray the room still it did not help. Subsquent hotels was not bad the local tour guide was very good and knowledgeable who told us lots of history stories about taiwan and some juicy stories of famous taiwanese singer like 邓丽君 which we enjoyed though not sure if true or not. Meals were satisfatory. I enjoyed travel around by train at taipei and visiting 品城书店 during the free and easy day.

Can someone recommend your HotSpring experience to me?

                      Hopefully near to Taipei.

No swimming for us, but we just want the kids to see the "smoke" and maybe "cook" some eggs.

                      thanks in advance

Is Taipei’s subway kids-friendly? Intend to bring my two kids (6 & 4 yrs old) to explore the city by myself…still hesitating because i am not sure if can manage them? 1 adult to 2 kids?

In any case my plan is first stop to the Mucha Zoo? Zoo should be less crowded during weekday (understand that taipei sch holiday only starts in jul?) and i can spent almost the whole day there…but if it rains will spent a day indoor at the "Big Boss"… Appreciate some tips or comments pls…
