Have you seen courtyard @ heereen before? which rooms you recommend for hotel puri then? I have a family of 4 and the kids usually bunk with us during travel as they do not want to sleep themselves, thus a king size bed is necessary. also, don't they have porters to help with the luaggage? do you know how long it takes to drive to malacca fr sin and the route? many thanks.When I go Malacca, Hotel Puri is usually my place to be.
Reasons:
1. it's cheap (but don't get the cheapest rooms, those are really very very crammed).
2. very near to the night markets and Tun Tan Cheng Lock (where I do most of my eating and shopping); means I don't have to find parking when I go there.
3. hotel offers secured parking...a guard has to walk a few doors down to open the gate for you to park/retrieve your cars. I feel safer parking here than say, at Makhota where it seems anyone can walk into the carpark.
4. Breakfast is provided but it's not very imaginative, I rather go for my chicken rice, wanton noodles etc outside.
The possible cons of the hotel:
1. don't expect facilities. There's no swimming pool, it really is just a place to rest. but the halls etc look very lovely.
2. streets are not very walkable, there is barely any pedestrian path.
3. it's not very near shopping centre (for that I think you have to try equatorial or something).
4. there are a LOT of stairs (NO lifts). Those with old pp or heavy luggage will find it very bad - then again, if you book early enough, you can always try to get ground floor rooms. -
I’ve been to both, and prefer courtyard. It’s more ex, but cleaner and new. the breakfast is loads better too. they r both on the same street. no lifts, but only 2 levels anyway.
these are boutique hotels, not porters, room service, pools or concierge. If u expect those, u would prefer Holiday inn or Equatorial. Even then, this is melaka, service is not the same as singapore. -
We went during CNY and stayed in the condotel . We are quite disappointed of the environment and surrounding as someone has metioned is quite run down. It is true. The unit that we stayed have changed new furniture at least better. Their balcony is quite dirty and dare not go out.
Their waterworld no wave pool as compare to Sunway Lagoon.

The set lunch is a packet of chicken rice and a few other type but I forgot and 1 can of drink . The chicken is not nice to eat and also not hot.
Overall, we still enjoy to see the show at the cowboy town and watching the firework. -

There is indeed wave pool at the water world, unless it is closed. When we were there in Jan, some of the water features (like Arabian village) are closed but not the wave pool. In fact , we only swim/play at the wave pool and the kids adventure pool. The wave comes along with siren at random time intervals

We went to Malacca during 1 - 3 Dec last year and stayed at Holiday Inn. Makhota is nearer to the shopping area but I think Holiday Inn is still ok cos Malacca is really small and you can walk to all the ‘must see’ areas by foot leisurely.
I like the pool, room is nice and breakfast is good too. The only downside for the hotel is it is located opposite the highway. You need to dash across the highway to reach the shopping mall which is quite stressful especially with kids around. I think they should consider building an underpass or overhead bridge for the benefits of guest staying at these hotels.
We tried the famous chicken rice ball. I cant’ remember the name but I saw many celebrity pics like '蔡澜‘. The rice balls are really nothing much to shout about. We took the 1 hr cruise which was quite relaxing and visited the ship museum. We also went to Malacca Wonderland where my kids enjoyed themselves too. Wanted to visit their zoo but was quite tired already. The Wonderland was really hot cos they do not have much shelter there. -

Went to AFarmosa last year. Lots of activities, shooting, water sport, pony ride…etc. but the Villa we booked was rather dusty.
