Went to AFarmosa last year. Lots of activities, shooting, water sport, pony ride…etc. but the Villa we booked was rather dusty.

I've just returned from a trip to Genting/Malacca in June and we stayed at Hotel Puri. I've stayed @ Courtyard in March this year too.

For Courtyard's pictures, pls visit here

                http://blessedhomemaker.blogspot.com/2011/03/malacca-march-2011-part-i.html

                http://blessedhomemaker.blogspot.com/2011/05/malacca-march-2011-part-2.html

For those interested in Hotel Puri, I've not updated them yet.

If I were to visit Malacca again, my first choice is still Courtyard although Hotel Puri's Family room is bigger. Just find Courtyard cosier.

                marmum:
                hquek:

When I go Malacca, Hotel Puri is usually my place to be.

                Reasons:
                1. it's cheap (but don't get the cheapest rooms, those are really very very crammed).
                2. very near to the night markets and Tun Tan Cheng Lock (where I do most of my eating and shopping); means I don't have to find parking when I go there.
                3. hotel offers secured parking...a guard has to walk a few doors down to open the gate for you to park/retrieve your cars. I feel safer parking here than say, at Makhota where it seems anyone can walk into the carpark.
                4. Breakfast is provided but it's not very imaginative, I rather go for my chicken rice, wanton noodles etc outside.

The possible cons of the hotel:
                1. don't expect facilities. There's no swimming pool, it really is just a place to rest. but the halls etc look very lovely.
                2. streets are not very walkable, there is barely any pedestrian path.
                3. it's not very near shopping centre (for that I think you have to try equatorial or something).
                4. there are a LOT of stairs (NO lifts). Those with old pp or heavy luggage will find it very bad - then again, if you book early enough, you can always try to get ground floor rooms.

Have you seen courtyard @ heereen before? which rooms you recommend for hotel puri then? I have a family of 4 and the kids usually bunk with us during travel as they do not want to sleep themselves, thus a king size bed is necessary. also, don't they have porters to help with the luaggage? do you know how long it takes to drive to malacca fr sin and the route? many thanks.

The train is the best option to travel Malacca. but you can also take the help of online travel guides who will help you better to make your travel easy. There are number of options to travel Malacca.

Malacca in mayasia is the best place to visit. taxi directly from Johor to Malacca is very costly but other travel options are also available. Train and bus is also comfortable to travel malacca.
