I found that the ICAS standard is very high...especially for English it is higher than PH standard. For MA and SC, also quite challenging. So I let my son take them for exposure.

Not too sure abt the std, but am quite sure the scope of MA and Sc is beyond our classroom coverage at the time of sitting for these tests.

So to do well, can print sample copies of the ICAS test papers from the official ICAS website or buy from the S'pore ICAS branch (think it is International Plaza).

              http://www.eaa.unsw.edu.au/etc/about_icas
:thankyou:

I assume they are samples and usually sample papers do not depict the real standard of the actual papers, so will the actual papers be set at a different level of standard? More difficult? Can any parents whose kids had taken verify? The passages for English paper are of good standard, and the questions are ok, Math is fine. I had not let her try Science yet.

I have reason for saying that. I rem many moons ago, when this thread started to move at rocket speed, I read that he knows dunno dunno who in the school and offer to ask abt dunno dunno what. Then....I recall he also organised something and asked parents to join him in school. Something like tat. I sped read and somewhere, I realised he was organising a dads' stuff, so came to know he is a dad.

Despite the vagueness of your message, I know exactly what you're saying cos I was here when it happened! Hahaha

                  I remember this too!
:hi5:
