I wonder how robust our Army really is, if it can't even take pot-shots. I shudder to think how it would face real weapons!

d RSAF is arguably the best equipped n trained in SE Asia.
Ditto for some other SAF formations.
But we hv never been battle tested as a conventional force.
Some men do breakdown n cry in battle.
Nothing can prepare one for dis except going thro' it.
It is a very traumatic experience to see your mates blown up in bits n pieces.

An MO dat I served with told me dat to expose d medical staff to such sight,
they shoot pigs to do triage n it's not a pretty sight.

I was responding to Innovate's post about taking pot-shots at the SAF.

I think institutions that can't withstand some jibbing cannot see the big picture. SAF can fight its own battles.

For all that's worth, my family and I are patriots who fully support the work of our Army.

Not wise for us to draw any conclusion just on the basis of the photograph provided. Its best to let his superiors investigate and take appropriate action to prevent future recurrence..

Maybe he injured his back, leh? Cheh - if not maid carry, then Mummy or Daddy carry - can or not?

For all it’s worth, I certainly believe that NS is one of the cornerstones of nation building. I’m be one proud dad when the time comes for my ds to perform his tour of service.


However, having said that, I do not subscribe to the view that it should be beyond or immune to criticism. To think otherwise smacks of intolerance and high-handedness.

I even train my own DDs to be more independent at their age now, 1.5yo & 4.5 yo

I find that toddlers want to do things themselves but if their independence is taken over then they will learn to rely on others. So when my DS wants to bathe himself, I let him. I tell him in the morning he bathe then when he's back from kindy, it will be my turn. This way I can get over my need to ensure he is clean and he can have his independence. I'm still paying for my feeding mistake but there's progress. Now whenever he wants to do things himself I let him not matter how frustrating it is for me :lol: :lol: :lol: Waiting for a 3.5yos to wear his shoes can be hair tearing experience.

Looking back, I would like to apologize for the brashness of my reply to you, INNOVATE. :salute:

We may have differing views regarding the sanctity of NS as an institution but that's no excuse for my brashness; notwithstanding the fact that I thought that I was communicating with an army guy (who I assume will be used to strong language).
