I am living at jurong west. Below are schools in the vicinity-
Rulang primary less than 1 km
Shuqun Pri >1 km
West grove >1 km
jurong west pri >1 km
Based on the previous years stats, i understand no chances for the last two schools since they have ballotting each year fro those <1 km.
Since rulang is very near, i want to go for it also, unfortunately no PV. After 2A2 first day only 112 seats left. In case 50 PV for 2B there should be around 60 seats for 2C.
what are my chances to get in rulang? any suggestions?
should I go for shuqun in 2C ? very confused :?: -
Shu:
Hi shu, based on the data for the past 2 years, Phase 2C in Rulang is also surely going for balloting for <1km. The fight is quite tough.I am living at jurong west. Below are schools in the vicinity-

For Shuqun, it will be balloting for 1- 2km. Althou we have no idea how tight was the fight for those staying 1-2km from Shuqun...
You would have to continue monitoring very closely and have a back-up plan... -
RRMummy:
Shu, ur estimation of 60 places for Rulang should be quite accurate I guess. Last year there were 81 places available for 2C and balloting was conducted within 1km. Most probably it would be the same situation this year as RRMummy pointed out above.

I assume you are staying within 1-2km of Shuqun? Based on last year's stats, Shuqun has very low take-up rate in phase 2B. Hence places available in 2C would be much higher than Rulang's.
Since u stay within 1km of Rulang, you would definitely have a balloting chance in 2C. Only thing is, are u willing to let your child go to a less popular school should you be unsuccessful in the balloting? Because once balloting is over and you are (touch wood) not successful, your current second choice of Shuqun would most probably be no longer available under phase 2C(supp).
So, do consider carefully whether you want to take the chance to ballot. -
Thank Luanee!
In fact that is my concern, if i am unsucessful for this two the school i will be getting in would be lakeside pri (not sure if good enough for my daughter) since i dont want to send her to boon lay garden pri (both within 1 km).
should i ballot for rulang? or just take shuqun in 2C? -

Hi, I'm new to this forum. My daughther is due for P1 registration only next year but I want to find out more about the school in this area. I'm staying around Pioneer MRT station and the nearest school (<1km) is Jurong West and West Grove. I will be under phase 2C and I understand that both school need to conduct ballot under 2C. So I need to find another school as 2nd choice. Can anyone please tell me more about the following school ?
Juying
Corporation
Pioneer
Would appreciate any reply. Thank you.

Hi,
If you staying within1 km or 1-2 km you should go for pioner primary since it has got 100% intake as compared to corporation and juying which are only 60-70% full even after phase 3 and are not so popular.
Be careful, in 2C supp there should be huge crowd of unsuccessful applicants from 2C coming in so may be balloting again for those staying in 1 km :(. Do your homework before you register.
good luck!
