Mrsbongz, replied you oredi. Most parents of P1 kids I talked to said that their kids can't wait to go sch (can you believe it, keke). But there's a few parents who have also told me that they need to drag their kids to sch daily.markfch, you have pm
Hi parents, esp P1s, do your kids still try to avoid school? though it's already term 2? having some issues with my boy, not sure if I should be concerned. he's been calling me from school n asking to go home for alot of reasons.. can't tell if it is genuine... or if I should be worried... any advice?
Do you want me to ask my ds to 'casually' check with yours on any possible reasons why so? -

Previously when dd was in P2, she was stressed out by the more difficult spelling/tingxie (wrt p1) and not-so-good-relationship with FT, so she will go school then call during recess to claim she had xxxx illness and claimed that the T asked her to go home... after a few times, we found out and had a good talk with her to resolve the issues....
You might want to probe him regarding school work first (too difficult? too much?)... then maybe relationship with T or classmates?..... good luck... -

thank you, it's good to know how other children react.. he seems ok with school, willing to go etc.. then he will call from school during recess or before school and claim to be unwell etc..
He usually have a high threshold for pain, never cried for injections etc before.. so when he claims to b in pain, I try to give him benefit of doubt. But it is getting often, and the staff in school asked me to be more firm with him.. when I probe him further, he will cry hysterically 'I'm not lying mommy, really I'm not lying\"
very hard to make a stand loh..
I don want him to keep things from me esp after he hide from me abt being pinched in kindy.. but its so difficult to keep a balanced approach.. Mommy's using up most of her leave liao -

Have you analysed the days that he called you? Are they consistently always on the same day(s) of the week? What's the lesson(s) after recess for those day(s)? Maybe he feared a particular teacher or dread the lesson(s)?
