Precisely...I was like, 'Huh :shock: , only P1 and term 2.' Asked her FT and she understood my concerns...my daughter is very petite. So my heart really broke when FT said she needs remedial :!:janet_lee88:
My daughter has remedial lessons for Chinese, Eng and math...teacher is very kind and understanding...thank goodness for her teacher :love: If she had been in PH, wonder if she would have such patient teachers.
what, primary 1 and school has already started the remedial lessons??? :!:
Apparently, my dear girl here doesn't give a hoot about giving quality work but always the FIRST to finish her worksheets...and also not able to read many words. So her FT said she wants to observe her in small group setting first.
My mum was so heartache when she heard about remedial and even wanted to bring her lunch. :heartbroken: -

Homework is not brought home bcos chances are the PARENTS will be the ones doing them...so her Eng & Maths are done in school. My dear girl here doesn't give a hoot about producing quality work...her thrill is to finish asap and hand it up.ds's school has none and homework especially chinese is hardly given. guess they did most of the work in school. but remedial for chinese would really be much appreciated by this mum here.
he is doing 3 ccas weekly instead and if he has his ways, he will be doing 5 ccas.
We were initially heartache about the remedial for all 3 subjects, but her FT is very patient and caring towards her...said this small group setting is to observe her progress first.
As for CCA, NO WAY...at least not for P1, no matter how many letters I get from school. -

mine doesnt read instructions and never check his work, so unlike the sister. even if helping words were given, he can still copied them wrongly.

The prob with teaching own kids is they don't listen to parents regardless the number of times you repeat...but with teacher, just once or twice will do and that sticks in their heads.
My son always misses out certain words (comprehension) or else copy the wrong thing for Maths...so he is wrong RIGHT from beginning. -

Parents doing kids' homeworks, that is not helping them. If it is tough, help them out by teaching/coaching them. If it is too much, write a note to school to ask for another day or 2. Helping the kids doing homework will end up with more problems in future. -

haha, what about online exercises the kids have to do at home?
for chinese, he can do it many times (doesnt reflect the no. of tries one has) to achieve the shortest time. at first, we didnt know, thought only has one try but hey, his friends (top 10) were like finishing the whole thing in less than 1 minute.
now we know how it works, ds has been banging on his keyboard to get to top 10. good for him (learning) but pity the keyboard. -

My P5 boy has an account to revise subjects online, using his school code and birth cert # but P1 gal doesn't have.haha, what about online exercises the kids have to do at home?

I can’t stand him cos Mum here when small is super careful. My son is also slow in everything, except eating titbits and watching TV. He doesn’t strive to be fast. In contra, I think he strive to finish last in class. Really buah tahan.

yeah, ds in p1 has online work/revision (not weekly though) and hardly see homework.
i cant stand him too when i see his work :!: :faint:
right, our sons have something in common, always very fast when it comes to eating sweets and getting hold of the tv remote congtrol. :celebrate:
