      LOLMum:
that's good if ft is patient and helpful. you will definitely see the benefits of remedial class. i always 🙏 for patient and helpful teachers for my kids.

sometimes when we teach our kids ourselves, they just dont listen and with teacher, it is \"teacher is always right\".

mine doesnt read instructions and never check his work, so unlike the sister. even if helping words were given, he can still copied them wrongly. 😛
I'm very happy her FT is very patient with the class.

The prob with teaching own kids is they don't listen to parents regardless the number of times you repeat...but with teacher, just once or twice will do and that sticks in their heads.
My son always misses out certain words (comprehension) or else copy the wrong thing for Maths...so he is wrong RIGHT from beginning.

Homework is not brought home bcos chances are the PARENTS will be the ones doing them...
so her Eng & Maths are done in school. My dear girl here doesn't give a hoot about producing quality work...her thrill is to finish asap and hand it.
Janet, I hope your little girl enjoys and benefits from these remedial lessons.

Parents doing kids' homeworks, that is not helping them. If it is tough, help them out by teaching/coaching them. If it is too much, write a note to school to ask for another day or 2. Helping the kids doing homework will end up with more problems in future.

That's why the principal wants all work to be done in school during curriculum time...this way teachers know what the girls are not sure of and will correct them. I love this

haha, what about online exercises the kids have to do at home? 😄

for chinese, he can do it many times (doesnt reflect the no. of tries one has) to achieve the shortest time. at first, we didnt know, thought only has one try but hey, his friends (top 10) were like finishing the whole thing in less than 1 minute.

now we know how it works, ds has been banging on his keyboard to get to top 10. good for him (learning) but pity the keyboard.

My P5 boy has an account to revise subjects online, using his school code and birth cert # but P1 gal doesn't have.

Don’t know if it’s a common boys’ problem. My son is careless too. Copy wrong words even when the words are right in front!

I can’t stand him cos Mum here when small is super careful. My son is also slow in everything, except eating titbits and watching TV. He doesn’t strive to be fast. In contra, I think he strive to finish last in class. Really buah tahan.

                LOLMum,
Some schools have online work/revision since P1. I saw that for Chinese.

Frustrating right ? Copy the Maths to start problem sums also can copy wrongly...needless to say, wrong all the way lah. Then copy answer for comprehension passage also can leave key words or else leave out one or 2 alphabets.

carelessness - huh, when it comes to buying that particular toy they want, many letters in a single word can also spell correctly and even describe in details how the toy works and look like.

why cant be more observant in their school work? deserves :spank:

                        Dear Parents,

I’m keen to apply PV at RGPS. I called the school this morning with regards with their PV recruitment for children born in 2007. The admin lady told me it has not started and asked me check on the school website for status.

I would like to know how many years ahead before P1 registration can I start volunteering at RGPS. How’s the selection criteria and is it difficult to get chosen?

                        Thanks for your advise.
