      micollh:
just share, over the weekend, i boiled raddish soup with the dried cuttle fish, my mum recommended. it's delicious. i did not use any chicken bones/pork ribs.. just that dried cuttle fish , riddish cut in chunks, wolfberries and red dates.. boil for 2 hours..can try for varity 🙂

      QuiteKSMum:
Sounds easy (since no bones stk req), micollh. Will give it a try one day. Err...how much cuttlefish to put? Put for the full 2 hrs?
      Thanks in advance! 😄
ya, by adding some dried cuttlefish, makes the soup more tasty.
i'll still use big bone with some chicken feet, even with added dried cuttlefish as
too much cuttlefish wil spoil the original taste of the soup

try get the bigger cuttlefish, instead of the small ones,
the small ones are not that tasty when boiled with soup.
      i buy 墨鱼 (mò yú).
it can go with raddish, lotus root, old cucumber soup....etc.

          u're welcome, quiteksmum. 😄
the bigger ones are avail mostly in wet markets instead of supermarkets.
or those bigger provision stalls selling dried products in neighbournood estate.

I like all kinds of herbal soup, but will discard the herbs and only drink the soup. Where can I buy those \"bag\" where I can put all the herbs in instead of letting the herbs float around in the pot? Or is this \"bag\" not a good option since it is like boiling \"cloth\" :?

NO MSG…that’s difficult to find unless you’re dining at fine Chinese restaurants. There’s a chain called "lau huo tang" popping up at various food courts, very popular. Never tried. Even if some say "no MSG", indirectly they could have added through other sources like chicken essence powder.

if u wanna good soup, best is to boil yrself....anyway, boiling soup is rather easy task.
most soups sold outside, either they are heavily stuffed with msg (in order to taste good)
or they are simply plain like plainwater.....not to my liking. 😉
