          starlight1968sg,

Sometimes I like to marinate chicken wings with har jiong ( I use Lee Kum Kee or other brands fm wet mkt dried stuff stall) to make har jiong chicken wings..I also add some belachan powder & oil ... best to marinade for a couple of hrs ...and they'll be gd to go...( into the oven for baking & grilling).

Minced meat - 1 easy & fav dish of ours is to fry some garlic, minced meat, silken tofu & yuan sui (coriander?)... season with oyster sauce, soy sauce & pepper ( no water needed). Simple & easy dish wh goes well with rice... πŸ˜„

                        starlight1968sg:
Thanks a lot for your advice.

Will look out for this Lee Kum Kee chicken marinade during my next trip to the supermarket.
I saw quite a lot of fats in the minced meat and wonder how do I get rid of the fats.
1 way to get leaner minced meat is to buy fillet from wet mkt & ask the butcher to mince once for u.

However, fatty minced meat is quite delicious when wrapped in round wanton skin = dumplings in soup.

U can marinated the meat overnite w light soy sauce, pepper, cooking rice wine (optional) & corn flour & add in prawns & water chestnuts cut in coarse pieces.
Wrap then just boil the dumpling in hot water (open pot cover whenever the boiling gets too strong) until they r cooked (cooked when chopstick can poke thru easily) & drained into bowl.
Add hot soup & veg. Good w rice, noodles or on its own.
Dip in dark vinegar w cut ginger.
