It is very hurtful to an overweight lady when she is mistaken as being pregnant. To ask whether sheโ€™s pregnant or not is very impolite.

Once a lady boarded the train and stood in front of me. She is either fat or pregnant. So I stood up and walked away. She could choose to take the seat if she needed to.

Aiyo, liddat then assume all overweight females are pregnant?
        Cannot leh, not fair!
But, i agree with you that it is hurtful to ask.
Maybe I would just ask if she needed the seat.
In summary, since it is so stressful to sit, i would just stand.
No doubts and questions and I can enjoy the ride.

I remember in some European countries, students are not allowed to sit on MRT/buses as they do not pay taxes + their fares are subsidised. I think we should introduce this to Singapore to teach our youngs so that they will become more resilience. jmho :siam:

Umm, but our senior citizens also have subsidised fares during non-peak hours...liddat how?

Anyways, I do like the idea in Korea/Japan where the old pp feel entitled to whack the youngsters if they don't show respect/give up their seats. :spank: ok, I'm not advocating violence, but rather that elderly should be respected.
