I have a single friend who is slightly on the plump side as she’s suffering from PCOS. She said she was offered seats on the mrt often. I asked her how she responded and she said she just graciously took the seat, so as not to embarrass herself or that kind soul:)

Actually, for preggy ladies, I find those in the 1st trimester (higher risk of miscarriage and v tired) need the seat more but people can’t tell. Guess if you really need the seat, just ask politely and I’m sure the seat would be offered.

Twice I offered my seat to a woman who WAS NOT pregnant!! Nowadays, I wait and look and wait and look... and then I reached my stop.

It is very hurtful to an overweight lady when she is mistaken as being pregnant. To ask whether she’s pregnant or not is very impolite.

Once a lady boarded the train and stood in front of me. She is either fat or pregnant. So I stood up and walked away. She could choose to take the seat if she needed to.

Aiyo, liddat then assume all overweight females are pregnant?
                Cannot leh, not fair!
But, i agree with you that it is hurtful to ask.
Maybe I would just ask if she needed the seat.
In summary, since it is so stressful to sit, i would just stand.
No doubts and questions and I can enjoy the ride.

:nunchuk: woah piang...if I'm the lady, perhaps I would reply \"need me to show you my preg test kit?\"

umm, then who to decide which cabin nearest to the escalators for who?

we already confuse tourists with taxi rates, imagine confusing them whilst on mrt…
