Dear all, I am new to Kiasuparents. My son is in PH p4. I run through a few pages. My son did quite bad in his comp 10/20. I asked the teacher the problems. She told me my son’s comp is full of confusing ideas and loopholes and awkward expressions. At first, I guessed my son wrote too long. But after I read Kiasuparent, it seems it is normal to write 2.5 pages at p4 level. The E teacher advised me to ask for help from tuition. I feel disappointed why the school teacher can not help at the initial stage. Another thing, I feel very worried about TW8 English study method. I took a look of my son’s file. The whole half year, only 7 spelling list, 1 journal entries, 4 comp and a few worksheets. P1 to p3 have big books topic by topic. P4, I really donot know what my son learn at school.

I am not surprised that T ask parent to look for tuition for their kids. I am also got such a hint for my ds's poor Chinese.

I am not surprised that T ask parent to look for tuition for their kids. I am also got such a hint for my ds's poor Chinese.

Perhaps the teacher felt that the child needed 'specific' help? My DS's chinese isn't very good, while the T didn't ask me to get tuition, she explained to me that the class is very big, with varying degrees of competency, and it is very difficult for her to give him the specific attention he needs to improve. She also mentioned that the time spent in class is rather short, with alot of syllabus to cover, that she will need alot of support from home to help him improve. I thought that was rather reasonable... Was the T referring to just tuition in compo?

is this year's results slip same as last SA2?

I saw the slip for P3. The average scores for standard were mostly in the 70+ range, CL was 65.1!!! This is pretty scary, ya?
