I so agree! I was shocked by the amount of time we have to contribute and my RC is not even active like Timtim's! Every week, we will receive a sms from PA asking us to attend this sharing session or that meeting or some gathering. An hour here and there adds up, not to mention the travelling time.
As volunteers, if you add up all the events (own RC, other RCs/GROs and constituency/national wide) that one needs to be involved in, it's humongous. Not to mention the ever increasing committees and sub committees formed/mandated by PA/CCC. If so, better pay us allowance, just like MPs. At least MPs are paid for their time and effort, we got nothing out of it, only stress and pressures from Chairman/CCC. I can only say my first chairman was a \"human\", the current one a \"robot\".
So please be prepared when you sign up for volunteer work. -

That's why I am getting more and more....sigh, dunno what to say. Over the past few years, they have been making the criteria to achieve \"stars\" ever more challenging and demanding, keep adding like we are volunteering 24x7. Now they also formulated the Youth Chapter (ended up RC needs to recruit xxx number of youths etc) and whatever crab....really give up liao.daddy2007:

And I am :stupid: the way they do things. No head no tail, just throw to you and expect things to happen on its own. Information sent to you is also selective. I don't even know there is an event going on sometimes.

Hey....I'm new here.
Me too....find dat too much time committed to RC and less time for my family..sigh..My kid due for P1 Registration this year too and so far not received any info. from PA or my Chairman. Wat to do? Wait? :?: -
