      hi all,

my right palm got two very 'hard dry-up blister-like' and got 'broken holes'..
could be long term usage of washing liquids thus become like that.
tried lots of hand cream but still not much improvement..
any recommendations for hand cream? many tx.
Not sure if I am interpreting it correctly.
Dry-up blister-like --- this is most likely areas that you have exerted force on. It's like harden and thicken skin, typically found on master hand that holds things like mop/broom etc. I think this is hard to avoid or remove even with good moisturiser. Personally, I started having this after being SAHM and keep on worsening ie. harder and bigger. Eventually, I tried to wear a thick glove (like those exercise/bike kind)....basically to lessen the force on it. Thot it helped. These days, tho I have some help now, the blister has only grown softer, but cannot disappear entirely.

Broken holes ---- sounds like you had little water pimples which broke. Not sure if it's same as mine.....but it itches and spread if broken. Doc told me likely to be allergy caused by the detergents etc... best is to minimise contact eg. wear glove. Personally, my whole palm dries up and peels badly once I touch GIF too much.......again, lotion does not really help cos' the skin is dead, hence gotta target the root ie. use gloves to minimise and then moisturiser.

I think....different people react differently, personally I have tried Vaseline, Physiogel, Cetaphil, Nivea, Johnson Baby etc. The one I like most is still Vaseline and Cetaphil cos' it gets absorb fast.

Just like hand washing which must be thorough as taught by HPB. Hand moisturing should also be thorough. You got to make sure you rub enough moisturiser into each and every corner of your hands for a few minutes and not just a few simple strokes. By rubbing thoroughly, you are ensuring that the moisturiser gets to the deeper layers of your skin instead of just sealing the surface.
