a friend of mine, his son play very well in violin and have grade 8 merit certificate and can drawn very well too. Could not get into Sota dsa this round. It seems like they will only take in kids, who are extremely talented & musical in this area. Then they will groom them .

Hi can someone advise what is the syllabus like? I read through all the threads but it all seems to be how to get into the programme.


Is it a lot of practical or theory or analysis or history of music ?

And does MEP = O level music?

MEP prepares students for O Level Higher Music, but whether you actually sit it depends on whether the school offers IP (can choose) or O Level (must take).

I don't take the MEP myself so I can't be sure, but looking at my MEP friends, they have practical exams and study music analysis, history etc too.

different schools will have it differently. they will advise you. For my elder boy's school, they only needed to apply for MEP on the 1st day of school during the briefing.

I believe Tanjong Katong Girls School (TKGS) has about 40-50 girls doing MEP , in lower sec, there were split into 2 classes.

Nahh, there are only about 30 mep students in each level...
