the beginning can be very tiring, on both the adts & kids.

I wld get them to go to the toilet just before their bedtime. then within 1.5 - 2 hrs later, wake them up again. there after, in between 3-4 hrs again.

so min, i gt to wake them up at least twice in the night.

for DS, happens he used to sleep over at my mil's place every night so they set alarm clock instead.

for me, i wake up automatically. but must admit, accidents do happen now & then. DD will wet the bed even if she has gone to the toilet 1hr ago. then i will be like.... DS will get up to change quietly once he realised he wet the bed. i will be thinking he was not wearing this pyjamas before bed, how come... then i found out :faint:

though the times when DS wets his bed is disappearing fast. :boogie:

training still gg on for DS (6) & DD (4)

guess that’s the life…i do wake him up once at night…but the timing was always wrong. if too earlier like 1am wake up him, by the time he gets up around 8am plus, pants wet again. if wake him up 2 or 3 am, he might already wet the bed. waking him up twice i feel too much disruption on his sleep. luckily he has enough underwear and pants to change, even twice a night…sigh!

              How about afternoon?

My daughter is 4.5 yrs now, & I'm just starting to train her without diaper for afternoon nap. So far so good, only the 1st day she wets, but has been dry ever since. (abt 5 days only ^^ )

I plan to start training her for the night time (diaper-less) on the 3rd week of June 🙂

              Wish me luck! ^^

following the advice here i wake up my son 2 hours after sleep at night.

and he will remain dry till morning. it is working for the past one week! but let me monitor for longer period and update again.

This is what I did when I was toilet training DS at nite:

                      1. Stop giving him any drinks 15 to 20 mins before bedtime.

                      2. Make him pee before tucking him to bed.

                      3. Carry him to the loo to make him pee after about 2 and a half to 3 hrs later.

                      He remains dry after that.

My next goal is to buy him an alarm clock and set it so that he can wake up by himself and call for me to take him to the loo. He is getting too big for DH to carry him liao. Perhaps the alarm clock will be his 4th birthday present 😉

Anyway, its easier to toilet train them during their afternoon nap first before proceeding on for nite training. Nite training takes a bit of trial and error, because have to monitor how long it takes them to want to pee after their last pee. We found out that if we wait beyond 3 hrs, he will def wet the bed.

will waking them up disrupt their sleep?

the ‘no drinks before sleep’ and ‘pee before bed’ works better for me. lol.
