      eagles:
Can anyone share if Nanyang Primary or RGPS give class position?

Eagles, a suggestion for you is to post this question in the respective NYPS and RGPS thread, you may get a better response there than here as the parents of these schools may not venture into this thread.

for rgps the class position is not stated in the report book but the parents can ask the form teacher during ptc....

u got any lucky number? i also want to buy.....

actually i feel that for P1/P2 the marks are all very close if they have attended pre-school (in sg).... the reasons are the marking is not that strict and the things they learn are rather simple.... except for those who have learning difficulties or can't concentrate in class.....

the reality will set in during P3 and P5 when the exam questions are much tougher and we can start to see those really good ones stand out from the rest..... that is when parents need to have some preparations.... one of the most important is managing expectation... either raise or lower the bar depending on the child's abilities...

good number, only 12 permutations :rahrah:

of course the higher the better, but i think with >90% the child should have a very good understanding of the subject...

I beg to differ.. it also depends on the school.. some schools have papers which are more challenging than others...some schools are very strict with the markings... and some papers contain concepts/terms which have not been taught in class.

also depend on standard of paper la.
also depend on marking system la. kids with good understanding of subject, but with less than ideal answering techniques (eg science lack key words, math lack proper working etc) also will struggle to hit 90%.
maybe should be kids with >90% score show good grasp of answering techniques required to score on top of understanding the subject. 🦆

…im wondering if my dd can achieve consecutive 95 marks and above for all her subjects when itz her turn.

she has been showing carelessness in her work~

for whole of k2, tien sia gave her test every term and shez always short of 0.5 or 1mark away from perfect score. but think shud be v good already considering the fact that we dun teach/ speak to her much in chinese at home and never revise with her at all… her 1st language is still english.

need to work on her math since so many parents already started with more complex concepts and multiplication. i din do anything with her at home~ just give her some work to do on her own. duno then teach… the rest of the time, shez just reading and playing with younger bro.
