How do i go about doing this? approach Blangah rise school to enquire?
You should call up MOE. -
Tamama:
Try Marymount Convent. The chances of transferring in is quite high. I have tutored a few foreign students and returning students who were preparing to take their 'entrance test' at different levels.hi, we will live in thomson lane. i will try waitlist my girl into some catholics school nearby, but i know the chance is slim, provided our status as foreigners. so have to figure out the bus routes and mrt routes and see how to get my girl to school. i have a younger one and i still have not found him a kindergarten. but i guess it is less urgent case.
anyway thanks for your suggestions.
From Thomson to Cantonment is quite though by public transport. If you drive then it might be easier via CTE.
How old is your younger one? There are quite a few preschools in Thomson area and most of them provide school bus service (can take another load off your mind worrying about transport). -
For those registering in Phase 3, please note that there are some changes from previous years.
Phase 3 used to be first-come-first served (hence parents / maid started queueing up at midnight), but this year, it is subjected to balloting. From MOE's website http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/ :
New Phase 3 Registration
Children who are neither Singapore Citizens nor Singapore Permanent Residents may register at the schools directly under Phase 3 on Thursday, 25 August 2011. The hours of registration are from 8.00 am to 11.00 am and from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
With effect from the 2011 Primary One Registration Exercise, balloting will be conducted in Phase 3 if the number of applications exceeds the number of places available at the end of the first day of Phase 3 registration. Balloting will be conducted on Friday, 26 August 2011.
After the balloting is completed, children who have not been able to obtain a place at their school of choice can go to another school with remaining vacancies to register on a first-come-first-served basis on 26 August 2011. -

Balloting will be conducted on Friday, 26 August 2011.<-- means we go to register on 25 august, and 26 august we have to go back to school for balloting result? when and what time we will know the result? -

The school should be informing you if there is a need to ballot.hi,

It's probably best to have one spouse attend the balloting, while the other spouse stations him/herself at another school which still have openings. Once the spouse attending balloting finds out that balloting is not successful, call the other spouse to do the registration at the alternate school. -

because i thought i can use authorise letter to ask my friend to go to another school to get a 2nd chance.. but heard we cannot join 2 balloting.
if we are at malaysia, how the school informing us about the balloting?
another question, i heard on 25th august, we should go early rather than go there on afternoon, is that true? if we go on afternoon, are the chances same as those parents go on morning ? -
celinn:
If it is a open-to-balloting phase, whether you submit earlier or later does not matter as long as you submit within the registration time period. If it is a 1st-come-1st-serve phase, then submit early will get you a place instead of later.i did ask about it, whether can we go to 2 schools and ballot..but i heard the moe replied one of my friends, said ITS IMPOSSIBLE to join2 schools for balloting. i dont know how they control it , they need original documents for balloting?

then 25th is first come first serve or all balloting?
-
celinn:
then 25th is first come first serve or all balloting?
25th is registration. no first come first serve.
26th is the firstcome first serve registration for those who failed in the balloting for 25th.
