Yep! See you on Orientation Day! You know even though I had gotten through in 2B, I was so tensed! I kept checking KP and the MOE webiste all day, didn't do much at work at all! Guess I'll have to compensate for the last three days next week!

So when do you get the precious letter? Also which block are you in?

i don't know when i'll receive letter....i'm staying at blk 239 luckily still within the 1km....its a great feeling.....i could not keep my mind on other things and yet i want to keep myself busy so i would not think about it.....already discussing plan B with hubby....
guess we should have a parent support group for beacon primary or is there one already? :lol:

can someone enlighten me:

I was at chij till 4.30pm and was told that there were 26 applicants for within 1 km and 39 for 1-2km making a total of 65 for a vacancy of 63. then this guy withdrawed his daughter s application at the eleventh hour and thus made it 64 for 63. we were told that balloting will be conducted . but when i checked the moe website, the no of vacancy was changed to 64. so does it mean we dont have to ballot anymore??? I will be so thrilled!!! anyone know anything???

I got my letter on the day the results were to be declared, so I guess you'll have to wait till 11 Aug. But you can still sleep in peace tonight!


I'm not too sure of a PSG in Beacon but just a few mins back I started a thread in the main forum under Primary Schools - Academic Support and Preparations. It's right at the top now asking for Beacon parents. We can have our own non offical PSG there - support each other....Then there is always the PSG at school.

Wow in this case everyone would be getting seats! Maybe the school didn't want to do balloting for 1 seat, so decided to get everyone in!


Congrats to all then at CHIJ. I know a friend of mine will be mighty pleased. Are you in 1-2 km? Which block?

ya, i really hope so. I registered for beacon and looking at the stats, withdrawed this afternoon and cheong to chij. in fact i was the last one to reach there and my queue was a lucky 88. I am within the 1-2 km , staying at 182. last year they didnt had to ballot for within 2 km. I think i will call them again tomorrow to confirm. but i am very sure that the no. at 4.30 was still 63 and not 64 though the teachers told me that they will also ballot even for 1 extra applicant. but imagine the disappointment and anguish the one reject will feel in the sea of rejoice on that day.

no, i am within the 1-2 km from beacon.Actually my eldest girl is in zhenghua but didnt really like the school plus prefer a single session one so my 2 choices were Beacon and IJ.

i wasn't too keen on Zhenghua given some of the comments that i've heard and though it was much nearer....would rather place my bet on a newer school....
