[Bukit Timah] Primary Schools
-
hi ziltransformer,
Henry Park primary P1 got storybook review. Pupils are encouraged to read storybooks. After that write a simple, short book review, based on what they had read. Not many Primary schools got book review, at P1. HPPS is one of them. Even RGPS P1 don’t do this book review thing stuff. So for remaining half a yr from now, gear up yr child acquire good reading habits.
HPPS is an excellent primary school. So many parents so eager & anxious, can’t wait to enter. They purposely shift house to be within 1 km, just to try their luck in balloting. So, do not give up this precious place. -
hi ziltransformer,
my ds is with HPPS now , & we live in CCK ( < 500m from DLS ).My ds will leave home by 620 am and heading to school by school’s van . to us and him, the traveling time is manageable . -
hi ziltransformer,
see! other HPPS parents also encourage you to retain your good place. Besides, HPPS is a gift - to be handed down to the next generation, ie. your grandchildren. Think long term benefit. -

I know Bukit Timah Primary has SNOs for 3 of the above (bold) you mentioned. I am not sure the degree of support, you may want to speak to them. I know of a gifted mildly autistic boy currently in Henry Park Primary and loving it. -
Hi anyone know if any of the Bukit timah schools got open house ? Esp RGPS ?
-
hi LeeTaiTai,
the admin manager of RGPS confirmed in writing - there is no open house in RGPS.
however, curious parents who wish to visit the school premises can do so on P1 Orientation day - around 18 Nov 2011. You may go website, confirm this date and time set inside the school events calendar.
orientation talk is held in the huge school hall.
Parents can attend the talk. Feel the heart beat of the school, as well as find out what are the expectations of P1 curriculum. Aso who are the buddies paired up with your chiid at recess time to buy food, during initial first few days.
the talk in November is for P1 orientation. At the same time, you can seize the chance to visit the school premises, like dance room, music room, band room, Arts & Craft room, different classrooms, for different level.
if you wish to hear the detailed breakdown P1 curriculum, subject by subject, then got to wait until January 2012. The curriculum talk is very detailed, given by different subject HOD. This talk is given only once a year - held at beginning of the year, first few weeks. If you miss it, got to wait next round, ie. the next year. May go website, check school calendar which is the day in January for such talk.
parents whose daughters are due for enrolment P1 2013 / 2014 may also come and attend the talk…so long as the hall has got space big enough to accomodate all. -
may check P1 Orientation day from school's calendar website here:-
from the drop box, click 'November'.
November 18 calendar states 'P1 Orientation'
.
may call up school, re-confirm ask what time P1 orientation talk starts, venue - is it still school hall ?
