Actually my boy sleeps close to 9hours but i still find it insufficient bcos he doesn’t ‘function’ well after 7pm. In fact, he naps on weekends n during holidays. He was taking ard 10.5hrs a day last yr. Mine has panda eyes, but tcm says its bcos he has absorbtion issues, not lack of sleep.

Markfch, my son has to ‘look’ up to ur boy when they r together le. Hahaha

                Jennifer:

How do you conclude 8 hrs is not enough?

Mine needs >8 hrs. Elder boy will get dizzy spells, P4 boy will be unable to focus. Both gets panda eyes too.
T told me that ds looks tired these few days. I didn't tell her that he looks so energetic when he reaches home and turn on the notebook everyday.

Now he's getting ready to sleep. Lights out by 1030. Hopefully 9 hrs of sleep should be enough for him.

Frankly, I think it's gonna be worst than that.

Last yr only P2C < 1km got chance to ballot. This yr cut 1 more class, so not likely to be better off than last yr.

                    markfch,

PH very strict in issuing letters. Think cos of the reduction in no. of classes and in the past years, quite a no. of church members abused the priority and stopped going to church after kids got into the school. Thus, they are very cautious and selective in allowing church members to register under phase 2B. At the same time, I think also to protect the PVs. Last year, many PVs out of 2km did not get into the school at Phase 2B, though most if not all got in subsequently.

DS is in a church kindergarten and attends Glory Sunday school. He insists in trying PH cos it’s a mission school. Also nearest to our place, easy for this snail.

Actually a lot of church members abuse Phase 2B priority. I have friends who told me pple are willing to help if they want to try for catholic schools, i.e. to baptise their kids. Also, parents baptised last min just to try Methodist schools. Personally, I think religion is a no-play stuff.

Church members don't automatically get the P2B recommendation letters from the pastors. I know that they need to have served min 3 years in the church. But of course, it's the pastors' prerogative to decide to issue the letters or not. Religion is a sacred thing, so baptised last minute just to get into Mtd schools is quite unfathomable to me. Pres churches are stricter, people need to go for baptism classes (which take time) first before they can be allowed to be baptised.

:yikes: 156 places taken up already !
How many left after P2A2 ? Looks like this year P2C balloting within 1km is unavoidable again.
It's ridiculous to be an 'active church member' to be under P2B and then not go to church after child gets in. It's not right to do that.

A friend told me she's trying to be PV in PH...but with the reduction of classes, I doubt she will have a chance under P2B and more than 2km. Her son is due for P1 registration next year.
