sally:
Hi, just read the thread today on Abacus. Can someone let me know what is the E&P stands for ? thanks .min:
I'm also interested in sending my son to abacus training. Which is better: the traditional abacus or the 3G one?
Has anyone send their kids to edufarm or E&P learning Place? Which is better? Thanks!
Hi, I sent my boy to E & P when he is 6 yrs old. Till today (12 Yrs) he is very strong in Maths. I remember Ms Lian, his teacher told us that to be strong in Maths is to understand the concept and as long as u understand it u can do well.
Me & my hubby feel that the training he received from E&P do contribute to his Maths result. -

Because of my 6 yrs old son, I have personally spending times exploring the 3G abacus & Traditional abacus.
After completing the 3G Abacus instructor course, I have applied the methods to teach my son . It is simple & easy to understand.
As such, he has shown more interest in mathematics than before.
I am planning to let him take part in the International Grading Exam this coming Dec 09.
If possible, I will let him take part in year 2010 competition.
If you are interested in 3G abacus, please email me

My child is already P3. Is it too late to learn Abacus ? or no point? why?

greatly appreciate if someone can give the pros and cons with two hands (CMA) method and one hand method?
I only 'read' in this forum two hands methond is relatively new (sometime in 2007 or 8?) but 'better'?
Thanks in advance for kind soul to analyse. -
Understand that abacus covers basic mathematical operations like addition and subtraction. Can someone enlighten me as to whether they can be used to solve multiplication, division, fractions, decimals as well? I saw that some parents indicated that they would stop Abacus when the child is in P1 but I know that many of us would still let our kid continue with Kumon up to P6 or secondary school (even if it is not in sync with MOE syllabue)
Just wondering if it is because Abacus only teaches the basic maths operations like addn and subtraction and as such, there is nothing to learn beyond these?
