Hmm :scratchhead: that I also don't know.... Got to ask the experts here. I thought some cakes are meant to crack at the top... but I cannot remember which cake though.

I thought those steamed cakes we buy usually have a cracked top?

2 possibilities. Too much beating or vigorous stirring thus too many air bubbles in the batter. Or fire too strong when steaming.


In any case, like I always say, for own consumption, taste more important. If it tastes good all is forgotten.

Yes. full of butter smell...my son loves it..pop in almost 10 already, my gal doesnot...she still prefer her chocolate chips cookies instead...so may be making a batch tomorrow.

how did you get the recipe? Did you google it? It looks really deli and I'm drooling now. Feel like baking it too. And oh ya, how did you manage to get the even colour? Not a single part is burnt at all. :celebrate:
