This I got to share. This centre actually provide free lessons for P5 and P6! Was there yesterday to enquire for my DD. Too bad, only P5 P6, my DD don;t qualify. Ok. the material looks good. Colourful as mentioned in this forum. Will need to reconsider because slot my busy DD can go is not available.

Hi headache1969, may I know which PSLE Jei Maths centre you are referring to that actually provide free lessons for P5 & P6? No offences, which tution centre can be so kind enough to offer free lesson. I'm not sure whether are you a staff of Jei Maths but please do not use this kind of marking tactics to mislead people to join Jei Maths. My son is in P5 and join Jei PSLE maths. He is weak and was asked to come for lextra lessons but I need to pay for it OK. If you can tell me which centre otherwise please don't use this kind of tactics to ask people to join the tuition centre. As a parent, we are at the mercy of these tuition centres. But tuition centres are good, some are only out there to cheap your money. Whether Jei PSLE maths is good or anot, I'll know in a few months times when my child sit for his SA2 exam. I'll give my feedback by then.

        Hi Ljas1370,

        Sorry to jump on here..

JEI did have free classes for P6, not sure about P5 but it was only a few lessons for a certain time frame to help with their PSLE. I don't think it was meant for the entire year. You could check with JEI?

My DD1 is in K2 and attending their classes. They do have free sunday classes and my DDs just attended them yesterday. We just have to pay for the material cost.

DD1 wasn't keen in maths and took me a while to get her to grasp the concept. After she joined, she improved in grasping the concepts and it was easier for me to revise with her. So on top of JEI, she did her assessment books and revision with me at home. It did show during her JEI class and the teacher was asking if I did anything extra at home coz her improvement is showing. The teacher was happy and said it is great coz they only have 2 hours with my child every week but they spent the bulk of time with us hence parent's involvement is key in helping with revision if not they can forget what they have learnt in class.

        Just my 2 cents :hugs:

Paid a visit to the ctr and spoken to Michelle. Am consider signing up my DS(P1) and and DD(K1). Parents with kids currently with the Marine Parade Branch, please share some of your latest feedback.

          Hi Fanbing,

I have DD1 (K2) who is attending the class, and her teacher is Kendrick. Nothing but good reviews for them. Jason is a very nice person and is always arranging free sessions for the kids or parents. You just have to pay material cost.

Class wise, my DD1 has improved on her foundation on Maths and all the teachers always take the time to explain to the parents on how their child is doing. *usually I sit there while waiting for DD1 so I am aware the approach is consistent*

Love the work books, interactive and DD1 loves doing them

All the teachers are well mannered, sweet, patient and very pleasant people šŸ˜„

Hi kissgurami, pls elaborate what kind of free session Jason is offering to the students. From my understanding is, Jason only offer free exam paper drilling when the exam is round the corner which is on every Tue. Are you referring to this?

            Just spoken with Jason.
He said every Tue there is a mock exam for P6 which lasts for 2 hours.
It is complimentary for the centre students but you need to pay a fee of $20.
The answers will be discussed at the next math lesson.

I am still considering whether to enrol my DD.

Hi Ljas1370, I can ask the teachers when I head down. It was a notice at their reception, didn't read it through since my DD is only K2 and far from P6.

Chill, Ljas1370. Actually, I cannot really remember exactly the notice I saw then. But it was something about free lessons for P5 and P6. The notice is not there anymore. Since your son is in P5, no harm asking the next time you are there.

                  Hi,

May I know how are the lessons conducted? Is it similar to kumon/enopi/mpm where the kids are given worksheets, and they sit and do on their own? Thanks.

Yes, its workbook base. My DD join them when she is K2 and now P1. Workbooks are relevant to MOE syllabus. Its given to her based on a diagnostic test. Workbook have mix of some drilling, some application and some word problem.

Model Drawing truly test the understanding of concepts

Below are five examples of 5 different questions with 5 different models showing 5 different concepts and all having the same number statement as the answer.
