2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take

Yes, agree. In principle, itโs not right to give people false hope.
then these poor parents happily slot their lungs out, even take time off from leave, when itโs so hard to ask to take leave, just to fulfill and clock minimum 40 hrs, with some schools demanding even more. -

I am staying in Bukit Timah so those schools you mentioned are too far away. I will only be registering under 2C so will try CHIJ OLQP and if all else fails, will go for Bukit Timah Pri.
Not trying to pour cold water, but based on last year's statistics, MGS will only ballot for within 1km. Need to consider plan B. Depending on whether you are under P2B or P2C, you may want to consider other girl's school such as St Margaret, Marymount, etc.jeanieg:
Looking at the stats, i think I can forget about MGS right? There are about 70 places left for 2B n 2C! And I am within 1-2km! Looks hopeless or is there still any hope? Mommies, what do you think?
I think I may have to go with plan B of applying for CHIJ OLQP but I am out of 2km...hmmmm...will I have a chance? Stress, sress, stress! -
Bukit Timah Primary is able to absorb spill over cases from P2B, P2C this yr.

Heard from fren teacher quality quite ok. Gd luck!

Hi hi,
I am planning to apply for NanHua under P2C . I am within 1km . Basing on past stats of 33% chance for balloting within 1 km . I have plan B.
My plan B is to go either for Pei Tong ( within 2 km ) or Fu Hua in Jurong East ( further away approx 4 km + ) for P2C supp. Both schools do not need any balloting at all even for P3 ! The reason is because Fuhua seems to have pretty good results for last year PSLE . Any parents with children in Pei Tong or Fu Hua who can enlighten me ? Pei Tong seem more ideal as it is single session and nearer but the results does not look good.
The alternative plan is just forget about NanHua and go for Qifa where my house is merely meters away only and should have no problem getting in P2C.
Can some parents give me your opinions ?
Thanks in advance. Getting very Kan Cheong already

Seriously I dun understand y so many parents think that we should take away 2A. During my time as a student we help to raise fund for building of school new campus. We not only have donation cards, we also oraganised fun fair to help our school build a better environment for our next generation. I still remember my class came out with lots of ideas to raise fund and I'm in charge of washing cars. Isn't all these contribution to the school. Some of my seniors didnt even get the chance to enjoy the new campus as they had grad fr the sch by the time the new building is done.I just feel the current system is to confusing. Too many phases. Just look at siblings currently studying there and the rest shd be by distance.
As for foreigners and PRs, frankly, since the govt already tightened inflow, we hv to move on. Ultimately, these kids and families will contribute to singapore as well so they deserve a gd education like our kids. -

Thanks a lot for your reply. I am also worrying about what you mentioned above, plus I am worrying she has less or no schoolmate/classmate nearby in our community, it is hard for her to play with friends during off-school times.1 hour by bus is quite a long daily commute. Multiply this by 2 and it's 2 hours each day for your young dd. It can be tiring and she may not have the energy to do her homework etc. Remember as she gets older she'll have CCA and other classes so she may get home in the late afternoon leaving her with even less time to rest.
Is School P that much better than School Q? If not that significant, then go with the one nearer home.
BTW, school P is Pei Hwa and school Q is QiFa. I have registered my daughter to Qifa at phase 2A2, and gave up 2B at Pei Hwa. I hope we made the right decision. -
Thanks, pen88n! Will definitely need all the luck I can get!
and all the very best to all registering in 2C too! -

hi there, to me distance is important be it going to sch via sch bus or own car or themselves. No point travelling so far to and fro... imagine how tired! -
Anyone knows how many PVs are there in Fairfield Methodist in P2B this year?
