      Hi Champion,

      Long time no see.
I think ksi's answer is correct. Mine has typo error at the working; '102' mis-type into '120'. Had gotten child to check my model, but didn't get him to check my working. sorry.

teh-oh...no problem..... I actually withdrew my solution and wanted to do a check when I saw it differed from yours but too late... So you see...I also think I can make mistake cos we don't do it daily. What's important is we are all willing to share. :celebrate:

      Hi ksi,
So embarrassed. The first time I attempted to use Excel to draw a model. Got child to check model to ensure I drew it correctly, but made the careless mistakes that regular P3-ers did  .

Being busy with 'school' since start of the term. Child fell sick over the last long weekend. Has not done any 'real work' since school starts, or else you would have seen me at Science Thread. šŸ˜„

        H! teh_oh,
Appreciates your answer for the model :thankyou:

Me mind block and DD1 has Maths h/w tohand up by tmr šŸ˜“ .

Has no much chance to really sit down to do revision as weekend burnt due to her involvement in NDP Rehearsal 🤷[/quote]Hi Champion,
Your new avatar is very cute. šŸ™‚
NDP Rehearsal is once-in-the-school-lifetime experiences. CA2 is after NDP. Still have time. šŸ™‚

              1) A number is a multiple of 3. It is between 10 and 40. It is also a factor of 45. What is the number?

              is the answer : 15?

              2) There are 943 apples in Box X and Box Y. There are 785 apples in Box Y and Box Z. How many apples are there in Box X than in Box Z?

                Hi

                1) yes.

                2)
                [Box Y][**Box X**] = 943
                [Box Y][*Box Z*] = 785
                So [**Box X**] - [*Box Z*] = 943 - 785 = 158
There were 158 more apples in Box X than in Box Z.

                cheers.

                      Hi,

Need help with the following question

A truck carries newspaper. When it is half full of newspaper the truck has a mass of 1762kg. When it is quarter full the truck has a mass of 1426kg. What is the mass of the truck when it is full of newspaper?

                        Hi

                        [mass of truck][1/2 load] = 1762 kg
                        [mass of truck][1/4 load] = 1426 kg
                        so, [1/4 load] = 1762 -1426 = 336 kg,

                        [mass of truck][full load] = [mass of truck][1/2 load] + [1/2 load] = 1762 + 336 x 2 = 2434 kg

Mass of truck with full load of newspapers = 2434 kg

                        cheers.
